We've had a mixed time having people clean our house since moving to DC and so far Maids Prime is doing the best job since we got here. They show up on time at the scheduled time, bring their own supplies, do a great job cleaning the house and follow instructions well when you ask them to change things.
Since both my wife and I work and have two kids, getting help around the house is huge to help our quality of life. Having somebody else clean the bathrooms, mop the floors, vacuum, dust, and the like saves us a huge amount of time and stress. That said, we've had trouble finding somebody who can come at a regular time (so we can plan around it), bring their own supplies, and really get the house clean while being able to follow instructions like not using the broken handle in the shower. So far, Maids Prime has delivered on all of that and been pretty easy (if not the fastest) to interact with over e-mail, which is a huge plus for me.
Since we stopped having people during the brunt of the pandemic, we had a chance to try out some alternatives and Maids Prime stood out on Yelp! The good news is that the responded quickly when I reached out on Yelp at first. It then took a while to actually get the details worked out the first time for them to come. Phone seems to be not the right way to talk with them. Yelp messages worked at first, but e-mail seems to be the most reliable.
I thought we'd originally agreed to a 9a time, but the time wound up being 8-11a, which turns out to work fine for us. That said, pay attention to to the slot that you get e-mails confirming because that's when people will be there. Also, the seem to work (at least for regular residential cleaning) based on the slot in that they'll plan to be there for that number of hours or less. They plan to have two people take 3 hours to clean our house. The first time (when it had been several months since we had anyone professionally clean our house) it wound up taking them 3.5 hours and they didn't finish with the basement. That's fine, but good to know. Subsequent visits (every two weeks) have taken a bit under 3 hours and they've cleaned the whole house.
They do a really good job of cleaning everything. The dust every surface even moving things out of the way and back to do so. They clean all the bathrooms, showers, tubs and toilets really well. We've had to remind them to mop once after they missed some of it one visit, but with a reminder they did it really well.
They only downsides are really (a) that they can be a bit slow to respond and coordinate with over e-mail. It took a while to move from the one preliminary visit to having a regular every-two-weeks setup, (b) the maids speak pretty limited English, so my limited Spanish has been really helpful, and (c) it takes a bit more supervision to make sure you get exactly what you want than I'd love. That said, it's all worked out really well with a bit of understanding and they're the best cleaning service we've had in our 6+ years here.

Wow! I don't think our house has ever been cleaner. We received 2 house cleaners for 2.5 hours and they did an amazing job. I don't think our house was this clean when we moved in. The cleaners got were early and very nice. It was easy to schedule and reasonably priced. We will definitely be getting this service a few times a year!
I did take one star off because they did not wear masks. We are both vaccinated but they did not know that and we have no idea if they were vaccinated. I feel for safety reasons it is probably still safer for everyone to wear masks. We did leave for most of the cleaning to get us and our dog out of their way so our interaction was brief.

We started working with them 2 years ago and they clean our house every couple of months . They do a decent work . However , since early this year, the manager became arrogant and kept ignoring my request. Their online booking system is a joke that doesn't allow you to make an appointment directly . He doesn't reply to your message on Yelp or text message even though it shows that the messages have been read. I have to text or call him multiple times and beg him to get a appointment . This time, it has been a week and still no response. I guess they have so many customers now and apparently we are not good enough to be their customers ( we are foreigners and minority ). keep in mind that you may loose all your customers if you keep treating your customers like this.

Reasonable prices and gets the job done. They have good deals for first time customers on their website (it says seasonal deals or something but I called and it seems like they are active all the time).
Our home is 3 bed and 5 baths in a very wooded area and we have two dogs, so cleaning the place is no small task. I think as a first time customer, the maids weren't mentally prepared for how big the house actually is (even though I told the booking lady on the phone the square footage) as I noticed there was a more leisurely pace in the beginning and lots of rushing within the last hour. They did miss a few cobwebs in relatively noticeable locations (eye level) but for the most part I was very satisfied with the result. Overall, there were only little issues that would go away if I opted for repeat services, which I am currently considering.

Lucia is AMAZING. As a single mom who works a full time job, while juggling a million things at a time, it can be tough to get the house as sparkling as I'd like. I've been hesitant about hiring cleaners as I'm pretty particular but it is so worth the investment.
These ladies go above and beyond, every nook and cranny you can think of. They leave my home sparkling, smelling fresh, and I'm so satisfied with the service every time I feel so refreshed once they've finished.
Lucia is also always flexible with my schedule and happily adds on services as needed- even last minute! I HIGHLY recommend you use them to clean your home.

We have used Passeto about 3 or 4 times now…having them over about once a month when we can no longer stand the condition of our house. We have about 50% of the house cleaned as we have a big house and don't use certain parts of it all that much.
Lucia and her team do an excellent job, leaving it sparkling and smelling great. I am particularly pleased with the vacuuming of dog hair as we have a hairy guy who leaves a trail of fluff wherever he goes, but they do much more than that and everything gets cleaned thoroughly.
I am always happy when I pay someone to do something and they do a great job, but there's nothing like having people to your house who spend a couple hours there and leave it looking new. We'll keep calling Passeto once a month to keep this place looking pretty.

I haven't had maids come to my new condo since I've moved in. This was clearly a mistake LOL. It was funny, when I was buying the condo I thought it was something that would just be included with buying a brand new home… like a deep clean before I moved in.
We're not in apartments anymore Dorothy. Nope… apparently that's not a thing. Also, they literally don't even have to remove screws in the wall or patch up holes. If you want that sort of stuff, it has to be negotiated at closing.
Anyways, the job that Passeto did was PHE-nomenal. The one thing I requested that they do was to clean the sliding glass door. I also gave them a few instructions about specific pieces of furniture. Everything is so freakin' sparkly.
I'm generally a clean person. I'm certain when they came in… they breathed a little bit of a sigh of relief. But getting to every single surface in the apartment has been hard for me to do. Especially the floor. The floor, cause I LOATHE mopping the floor. I'm also not a huge fan of sweeping – even have a robot to do that.
But man, the level of clean my apartment is right now. Well, it's never been this clean. Period. And how clean do I want it at all times. This clean. They literally just left like 15 minutes ago.
The stove looks like it's brand new. The fridge is so clean. The carpets are expertly vacuumed. I mean… I can just tell the difference all over. It has the feeling to me of like a brand new turned over hotel room. And weirdly enough, sometimes when I'm staying at a hotel… I think to myself "Wouldn't be nice to just live in a hotel." Everything is packed away so nicely, the surfaces are always cleaned… I guess it's just my minimalist side of me trying to break out of my semi hoarder side.
Now that everything is super clean, I can't wait to get to some of the organizing projects I've been putting off. Also, redoing some of the closets so they're much more efficient. Right now, they are like the least efficient use of space.
Can't recommend Passeto enough. There's clearly a reason they have 77 reviews and 5 stars. Lucia and her helper were also SOOOO nice. They didn't mind French Toast (my puppy) at all. They even petted her and played with her just a little bit before we vacated to give them some space.
All around this was a 5 star experience. Customer service, product, care, attention to detail. AND…
OMG I just stopped writing this review cause I remembered that I hadn't taken a look at my master bathroom yet. IT'S SO CLEAN!!!!!!!!!

These girls are AMAZING! We don't typically use cleaning companies but we used them once before when we were moving out of a rental and they left it better than what we had gotten it! I told the owner Lucia our house was messy and she offered to clean it for $360 the first time and $270 monthly in future. The two ladies arrived on time and did a great job. After I paid to Lucia, she immediately said they could not clean our house next time. She said it took almost 6 hours, which was the reason we paid $90 extra for the first time. She also tried to blame me that I didn't tell her I have 2 ovens even though I answered all her questions before she gave me the quote (she didn't ask how many ovens I have).

We scheduled an appointment for 1:30pm. They showed up at 12:30pm. A whole hour early and just stood in my entry way and didn't know what to do. My husband and I were working so we sent them back and asked them to come back in an hour.
They came back at 1:50pm and spent an hour cleaning. We have never had anyone who came and cleaned the whole house in an hour (we have two bedrooms and a den and two bathrooms).
Here is what they didn't clean: sideboard, any of the windows/windowsills, backsplash in the kitchen, microwave, oven door, stovetop, AC air intake vent (it's on the lower part of the wall in the hallway), coffee tables, baseboard, shower door, bathroom floor etc. Frankly everything they did clean was only dusted. So whatever didn't come off during the dusting process got left behind.
When we texted the owner, she said we could have told them to clean everything while they were still here (I had no idea we were supposed to micromanage the whole process). She then suggested to send the same people back to our house to redo it. We refused. Then she offered to send a different crew next day, we refused also. We were leaving town and didn't have time for it. We ended up paying half of the estimate (which is still too much).
We understand running a small business is difficult, but you need to hold your employees to the same standards. Yes offering to come back and redo everything was a nice gesture, but not everyone has the time, and not to mention we are in the middle of a pandemic.
We are not giving an one star review is because the owner seemed sincerely apologetic, and we are not out to destroy local businesses.

Lucia is very responsive and it was easy to set up an appointment. She was also very apologetic, accommodating and offered to redo the cleaning after I contacted her. For Lucia alone I am at two stars.
However, my cleaning was unsatisfactory. I have a very small 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (under 600 sqft) but I was still very surprised it took the two cleaners under an hour to complete the job. And after they left I saw why. I had requested baseboard cleaning (extra $20) and they did that well but everything else just felt incomplete and rushed. The sinks in both the kitchen and bathroom weren't clean, my hair was still all over the bathroom floor and there were marks that had not been cleaned, the kitchen/living room floors had marks that were not wiped up (which I did myself with literally one wipe), and there is a film and remnants of dust over the furniture and on top of the fridge.
I already felt uncomfortable having strangers (or frankly anyone!) in my apartment during a pandemic so I am not taking Lucia up on her offer to send someone else or do it herself and have just taken care of completing the cleaning myself. I've been fighting a fruit fly infestation and a thorough apartment cleaning was one of my steps to help get rid of them. Also, there were no shoe coverings like everyone else wrote in their reviews and one of the cleaners showed up to the outside of my apartment without her mask on. Just very disappointing experience.

We never really needed a maid service before but when we did we weren't sure who to go with. Maid Bright was recommended to us and they were definitely the right choice.
For our initial cleaning, 2 very nice ladies came, put on "booties" and masks, and went to work. They brought their own supplies, and they worked non-stop for 2 and a half hours. They cleaned our three floor house top to bottom. The bathrooms sparkled, the floors were dust free, and even the furniture was vacuumed!
Overall they provided fantastic service and we have just decided to have them come back every other week. We like the flexibility that they give us in scheduling and not having a contract which does make things much easier.

Scheduling was so easy and everyone I spoke to was so helpful. I needed flexibility with arrival window and the scheduling team was so gracious with their help. They provided me regular updates and specified exactly what would be included, with a reasonable and accurate estimate.

They did an incredibly thorough job cleaning and performing the tasks that I was told would be included, and the apartment was literally speckless. I retained Spekless to do biweekly cleanings of my 3 bedroom home. I pay extra for them to clean the basement and perform extra "pet cleaning" due to our dogs. I've worked with them for 8 months now and here's the good and bad (some very bad):
The Good: The crews that arrive are pleasant and when they clean an area of our home, they do an okay job. Not a particularly great job but better than other services I've used.
– We've Been Ripped Off: Spekless charges us $195 per cleaning based on, among other things, the fact that our house is a 3-bedroom. Two of the three bedrooms were minimally used for several months while Spekless was coming every other week. During that time, I noticed that NOTHING in those rooms moved. Scraps of paper that were on the floor one week were still there after Spekless had been to the house to clean several times. The wripples in a throw blanket along the bottom of one of the beds remained exactly the same. A pillow that toppled over on another bed remained toppled over. A light stool that was in the middle of a carpet and would have to be moved to vacuum the carpet was in the exact same position week-to-week — it had not shifted at all. So, before Spekless' next visit, I decided to test a theory that, despite charging us to clean 3 bedrooms, Spekless was only cleaning 1 of them (our master bedroom). We left dirt tracked onto one of the beds by the dog where he left it and specks of paper on the carpets, and took pictures to confirm the exact positioning of this dirt and debris before the Spekless crew arrived. Sure enough, after the Spekless team came, cleaned, and left — the dirt and paper were still on the bed and carpet, in the exactly some positions without having shifted in the slightest. The other things that we noticed had not moved for months still had not moved and a rug was dusty to the touch right after Spekless had supposedly cleaned. Spekless was definitely charging us to clean 3 bedrooms but were only actually cleaning 1. After submitting all of this information to Spekless, they gave us a partial refund for one of the service visits, but not for the MONTHS that this had been going on.
– They (Hopefully) Broke Our Security Sensors & Said Nothing: After one Spekless visit, our security company contacted us to say that the security sensors on one of our windows had been disabled. Sure enough, we found that they had been removed and left on the window sill tucked behind our blinds. At worst, the security system was deliberately disabled for a large window that could easily be entered from one of our patios. At best, the Spekless team broke the sensors and did not tell us. Spekless apologized when we brought this issue to its attention, but continued to send the same team to our house despite multiple requests that they not return.
– Strange Use of Our Stuff: Spekless advertises that its crews use their own products, but we've definitely found that they've used both our cleaning and paper products to clean the house. One time, we found that our large bottle of Dawn dish soap that had about an inch of concentrated soap left in the bottom of it had been filled up with water. We asked Spekless about it and they said that the crew knocked the bottle over. We asked what that had to do with anything — it was a squeeze bottle of concentrated liquid. It's not like anything would have poured out of it if the bottle had been knocked over. But, even if it did (it didn't) — the crew's response was to fill it up with water to try to make it seem like it didn't happen? Because what, we wouldn't notice the difference between 1" of concentrated dish soap and 6" of sudsy water? We were just trying to figure out what happened and were rewarded with dishonest nonsense.
– Scheduling: Most cleaning companies will give you a 2-hour arrival window. We've not been able to get one less than 4 hours from Spekless. So, if you're like us and need to be home when the cleaning crew arrives and does their work, it pretty much takes up your WHOLE day. We were informed while I was typing this that after waiting almost 4 hours for the Spekless team to arrive today, they would not be able to arrive and start cleaning for another 40 minutes (and even that was not guaranteed). We told Spekless to cancel the appointment at no charge to us since the team missed the 4-hour arrival window and we simply have to get on with the other things we need to get done today. A 4-hour arrival window is ample time for Spekless (any service provider, frankly) to figure out a way to get a crew to our house for a scheduled service.
We've also asked Spekless to cancel our future appointments. Maybe we'll try them again if we cannot find anything better out there. We'll see. Right now, we're just too frustrated to think about them coming back to our home.

Spekless wants to put round pegs into square holes. If you live in a multi-bedroom house that does not need a full cleaning every two weeks, say, what to do? I'm in a house that actually has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. I ordered cleaning for a 1-bedroom unit, and focused the team on the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area (one additional room, tops) that needed it at the time. Every cleaning, I got pushback from the team, on the mistaken impression that I was asking for more cleaning than was covered in the work order. I had pretty much resolved to stop using them, or at least this particular team of two, as the quality of cleaning was below a competitor's that I had used, and this team spent a grand total of 45 minutes on its last cleaning (so, 1.5 person-hours for $120, roughly, or $80 per person-hour). But when I got a long text message from Spekless suggesting that I should move to an hourly rate service, which requires an order for a minimum of two cleaners for 2 hours for a total of $220, that made cancelation a no-brainer.

The place was falling behind with cleanliness as I was planning our wedding and got super busy. Decided we finally needed to hire cleaners to help. Found fantastic reviews on this place through Yelp of course and google. Booking was super easy and pricing is pretty transparent. Our first cleaning I was very excited for, and booked a deep cleaning. The first team we had – arrived later than they had said. That's okay. They got to cleaning and took maybe less than two hours for our 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. They did ask if everything looked okay before they left, and during the cleaning I did catch that the baseboards were not cleaned (this is part of the deep cleaning). She had explained that they do dust it but don't wipe – not sure if that's normal as I don't normally get cleaning done so that's fine I said ok. After they left, I did further inspection more closely and come to find that my dishes were taken out of the sink and not fully put back in, weren't washed (it was like a few utensils and maybe a bowl?). They did not wipe the countertop well at all, many crumbs left and they didn't move my small appliances around to catch it, the stove top was still very dirty, the cabinets were not wiped, corners were not vacuumed well, let's say I was highly disappointed for how much we paid. I reached out to Spekless to inform them of everything that was missed – sent pictures and explained what happened. They did refund the deep cleaning extra charge and I decided to give them another chance and requested a different team.
My new team Walkiria is just Superb!!! They are SO thorough and clean SO well! They arrive on time and reorganize a lot of my stuff that I wouldn't know how to organize. I'm very happy I gave them another chance – the only con is that the pricing is definitely on the higher side when I ask my friends what they pay for theirs.

Great customer service, however, after a year of working with them, I was told that they can no longer provide me services. That comes after I had continued supporting them through out the pandemic without receiving services. I was told they were "downsizing", and each time I'd ask for one of their "capable" teams I was told that they were no longer with the company or not available. It is disappointing when businesses fail loyal customers. After a year of working with them and post pandemic they started sending me teams that were doing more harm than cleaning and as some of the reviews state, they were not equipped the way you would think a cleaning team would be during a pandemic as the vacuum and rags some teams were bringing were old and made me feel uncomfortable. Sorry to say it but I feel very let down.

I requested a deep cleaning as I am showing the house for potential tenants. When the cleaning crew came the first time, they only vacuumed the floors and barely dusted; there was dust and cobwebs everywhere. No mopping at all. I contacted Julian to let him know that not only a deep cleaning was not done, but a regular cleaning was not done.
He then dispatched a second time. The manager on site argued with me the entire time saying a deep cleaning requires four people and that the first time they were here there were only three people, so no (lightweight) furniture like chairs, a papasan, and small wooden cart was moved to allow for dusting behind the furniture. He also complained about all the dust still left on moldings, baseboards, cobwebs, doors, furniture. I moved all the furniture in each room. I had to walk the manager through the entire house to point to all the dust in each and every room, he would not clean anything that I didn't explicitly point out. I would point to something, and he would wave a duster in the general direction–I had to do this for each wall in each room, each door, each ceiling corner, each shelf on a bookshelf… you get the idea. After about 45 minutes, the manager called Julian and put him on speaker phone. Before the manager made the phone call to Julian, he had already packed up his car. I was so tired of arguing with the manager the entire time, that I just let them go instead of asking them to bring the cleaning supplies and equipment back into the house to get the job done. I texted with Julian the entire time about how I was confused about why the crew did not do a basic cleaning (like dusting) the first time and could he send the right crew to do the deep cleaning? Julian said the house would be deep cleaned while the crew was here. I was here; they did not do the deep cleaning–it's nuts to stand right in the middle of a room and have the manager say they are doing a deep cleaning and then not mop the floors–which is just a regular cleaning. The house is still not deep cleaned even after two visits.
I just did another walk through of the house and I forgot to point out to the manager that the sofas are still dirty and not vacuumed, the baseboards are not cleaned, the windows are not cleaned, the ceiling fans still have some dust… you get the idea.
I would ask for a refund as Julian is in breach of our agreement, but I don't want to deal with him again. The baseboards are still dirty, they were only dusted and not actually wiped down. My house showing is in a few hours, so I'm gonna go through with the mop and glow and mop the floors in the living room, den, and both bedrooms, as that was completely missed. I am also wiping down all the baseboards. I also need to go back and wipe down and put furniture polish on all the furniture that was barely surface dusted. It's like being in bizarro world. What did I pay for? I have all of my correspondence with Julian via text, so I do have a good case for a refund, but again, not dealing with him (or the manager) again. I guess this is how they get away with not cleaning?
I will never use them again. They don't actually clean, which is their job.

THE BEST CLEANERS EVER! We had them clean our newly remodeled house and were on a tight timeline. Julian helped easily coordinate everything. Diego and his team came first thing in the morning and did an amazing job cleaning. They even clean parts of the house that I didn't know we had! They even cleaned the fireplace and closets! We will defiantly be using them soon for a monthly cleaning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I hired them for a deep cleaning and then planned to use them monthly. My house isn't that large, and a normal cleaning takes two people an hour. I thought the price for the deep cleaning ($190) was fair; maybe a bit low, but the price for the monthly cleaning ($140) was quite high. As you look around, you'll find that other companies charge $80 and $100/hour for three cleaning staff. I agreed to Julian's price only because he hadn't seen my house and said if the price proved too high we could re-negotiate.
When the two-person crew came for the Deep Cleaning, they were VERY late, rushed through the job in 90 minutes, missed some things and cleaned other areas poorly. Moreover, one worker, Diego, had a negative attitude about several things I asked them to do [though I'd run the list by Julian beforehand]. I had to work with Julian (texting and calling him) for 3 weeks to get them back to finish what I'd paid for upfront. When the crew returned, Diego now challenged me on EVERYTHING I asked them to do–while Juana, the other crew member, nodded because she could see it hadn't been done properly. I finally told Diego I wasn't going to fight and that if he was here to clean, great, but if he was here to fight he should leave-and he left! Julian apologized and sent a two-woman crew including Juana. They did a great job.
I scheduled a time two weeks later to start the regular cleaning. This time Julian just sent Juana. She did a great job and finished in 90 minutes. However: the pre-agreed price for the regular monthly cleaning that I'd thought from the start was too high was $140 for TWO people. The job actually took ONE person only 90 minutes–so should the cost should have been reduced.
Remember that Julian never came to my house, but said upfront we could negotiate if the price proved too high? Julian went back on his word, demanding the full amount. Did he think I'd keep paying $140 for 90 minutes of cleaning so he could take advantage of Juana and me? I'm blonde but not dumb. I paid $140 for one person to clean for 90 minutes — $93 per hour – and wrote this review to warn you. Don't be taken.
I now have Molly Maids. They send 3 people for an hour for $98 — $32.70 per hour per person: 50% less for the entire job than McCleaned!!

Diego and Julie are awesome. My husband and I were moving out of state and between the movers and getting on the road, we didn't have time to do a move out clean on our apartment. While I have not continued with this service, I do have updates to my review. After reading my original review, they offered me a second free cleaning to apologize for the mixup. They admitted that the miscommunications about the original free cleaning were their fault and just human error. Something about information getting lost in multiple email threads and making a mistake when copying and pasting. I understand fully that sometimes people just make mistakes, so I decided to take them up on it and give them a second chance.
The new free cleaning was in response to my original yelp post. Then as we were trying to schedule a date, they asked me to either book the cleaning sooner than what would work for me or take my post down until I got the second cleaning as it might affect business. While I sort of understand that argument, I feel it goes against the nature of Yelp and felt really uncomfortable with it. I am updating my review as was asked and am really trying just to be as objective as possible. The back and forths again got too complicated and so we decided not to accept the second cleaning.

My goodness! They came this morning at 7am on the dot exactly the time they had confirmed for and left at 8:30am. I was so surprised they were that quick and I just did a thorough walk through in my 1 bedroom apartment and everything and I mean EVERYTHING was spotless! I was so shocked that if I could, I would have given a 50% tip instead!!!

I used this company twice, the first time they did a half decent job. The second time they did the entire house in 40 minutes, did not clean any of the bathroom floors or the foyer floor did not dust half of the house and went around things on the table. Looks like they halfway wiped out one bathtub and did absolutely nothing with the other. You would think whoever is running that place would question how somebody can finish a whole house in 40 minutes, that should be your first clue that something isn't right. I had the same house cleaner for 5 years then unfortunately moved away, not sure why it's so difficult to find somebody to do the job right

Like others, my review is way overdue. We have used GCS for around three years now. Erlinda and her team are the most reliable cleaning service we've worked with here in DC. Although they sometimes clean our main house, they mostly help us with our vacation rental, which has very unpredictable scheduling. Erlinda and team are always reliable, on-time, and do a thorough job. They're also very responsive to your needs. We took photos of some things we wanted to be done differently and Erlinda shared them with all of her staff so we never had to mention it again. I have nothing but positive things to say about bright home solutions. The scheduling process was very easy. They have an online scheduling process but I had questions so I called. I can't remember who I spoke to but he was very friendly.
As far as the cleaning, the ladies were amazing from start to finish. They arrived on time and got started right away. I have never seen the house this clean. The prices are very reasonable and they really allow you to tailor the cleaning based on what you want. I will be going back to them, again.

I liked that they were more careful cleaning around my plants than other services have been. I was also pleased with the oven cleaning when we added it the first visit. They did a good job dust removal on the blinds and visible surfaces, but they missed dust on the ceiling fan and some under our coffee table that our old service was better at taking care of. After the most recent visit, I noticed that they only cleaned as far up the toilet bowl as you could see while standing directly overhead; my husband was unhappy that they used up our paper towels in the kitchen; and weirdly they left some used disposable gloves in our indoor bottle/can recycling bin. Our trash cans weren't cleaned, and both visits I wasn't impressed with their cleaning job on our upstairs shower (multiple areas of water mold were left so untreated that I suspect they didn't even apply cleaning fluid and just dusted around; I don't know how else a wet paper towel could've pulled up so much scum and residue). At the end of the first cleaning, we pointed out an example spot of the water mold that had been missed, and after it was "done" we realized the other spots of water mold were still ignored.
TLDR, we're going back to our old cleaning service. This company had competitive rates and their team was punctual, but after giving BHS two chances to dazzle us, we'll choose our old service that was always-running-late if it means we actually get a proper deep clean on 2000 sq ft.

These people are the BOMB! I have only used professional cleaning services a few times in my life, but I know excellent service when I see it. I ordered the "basic" cleaning just to try them out, and I was amazed at how thorough these two women were – even taking out the vents under the microwave and cleaning under the stove burners! I can't imagine what would be entailed in deep cleaning… Anyway, the service took an hour longer than expected, but I was still charged the same flat fee that I was quoted. Noe is a great manager – he always answers the phone and provides clear information… I just booked them again for next week!

I was originally pleased with this company's regular cleanings of my apartment.
But then I hired them to perform a Move-In Clean for my house and while I paid over $500, I got a 2 person crew (the same number that would have come for my small 2 bedroom apartment). I reduced their work by removing vacuuming (got the carpets professionally steam cleaned). So I would have expected everything else to be done to perfection. Instead, I found that their Window cleaning did not including wiping down the sills thoroughly or cleaning the outside of the windows (despite my modern windows being easily tiltable. I had specifically asked for garage cleaning and they just skipped that entirely. And I found plenty of cobwebs and dust after they left that just was never addressed. And I even forgave them for breaking a glass shelf in the shower.
Do not hire them for a big clean.

Until my mom contacted Professional Heavy Duty Cleaning and they fixed all the above problems and more. They clean the walls repaired the cracks inside and painted last year. This year they worked on the outside stripping old paint cleaning and repairing old bad wooden trim repainted and put in new shutters on the windows. Very detailed oriented, efficient and they left no stone unturned. They also do all kinds of handy man services and carpet upholstery cleaning and a ton of other home improvement services. I'm sure what ever you have wrong with your old house they can fix or clean, just ask for Nery Rodas.

I just had these guys out to power wash my deck, house and driveway.
All three were pretty dirty. I had just had a roof replaced and that plus the passage of time had my driveway looking pretty ugly. The deck has started to get that ugly green stuff on it and the house was dirty and dusty from time and the roof replacement.
Believe it or not, these guys started following me on Twitter and I saw they were local so I gave them a shout.
They are not the cheapest guys in town but they do a really great job. My house, deck and driveway look fantastic. I'm particularly impressed with the driveway since it was looking pretty bad but after the house had been cleaned I realized it was pretty dirty, too.

Capital Maid Service is the best DC-based house cleaning service I've used (I've lived in the region for over a decade).
They are by far the most thorough and detail-oriented cleaners I've seen clean my home! For example, some cleaning services might vacuum or mop around furniture; Capital Maid Service moves the furniture around to make sure to clean every nook and cranny. I asked them to wipe down walls and they happily obliged. Importantly, they are willing to take the time required to do a meticulous job.
As a note: Prices are competitive with other services I've seen. But given the quality of the cleaning job, it feels like a good value.

Thank you to Vilma and Esther with Capital Maid Service for a wonderful job cleaning up our new house. We just recently moved in and had wood floors refinished, so everything had a very fine coat of wood dust upon it, and these two ladies took care of everything including all of the kitchen cabinets and drawers. Now we can finally unpack our belongings and put things away properly.

I own a condo in Bethesda (now a rental property with tenants hoping to sell soon) and one in DC (my primary residence) and they do a fabulous job at each. I've hired them for recurring monthly cleanings at my primary, and also for an AMAZING move-out clean once my old place was to be tenant occupied. It blew me away! It was as if I never lived there – and they are doing another one for me there this week bc they are part of the process for getting that place ready to hit the marker.
It's actually been kind of neat having them also come to DC and see how I moved all of my furniture from the old place into the new 🙂 I never have to worry about logistics bc they know the routine for both condos and with my crazy travel schedule (well, pre-Covid) have been so understanding when I need to adjust their cleanings. They are super responsive and I trust them fully in my home (and they are just genuinely nice people!) Y'all, my house is so clean right now. They even cleaned off my decorations which is not something I even thought of or would ever do myself. But it feels so nice to look around at everything looking so shiny and new. We got our home cleaned to prepare for our homestudy for our adoption process and we really appreciate the peace of mind it gives us to know that the social worker will not be focusing on our cleanliness, but instead what wonderful parents we are going to be.

They did a very thorough cleaning of my apartment! I highly recommend them. Very professional. Besides doing a great job cleaning every inch of my apartment, every nook and cranny, I also really appreciated all the little things they did to make the apartment feel brand new. Nothing was overlooked. I've been in my apartment for three years and it now looks better than it did when I moved in. Well worth the money. For my 1000 sq ft apartment it took about 3.5 hours to clean.

I scheduled a one time cleaning online, and was impressed with the hard work by the two ladies who came to clean. (I worked from home but from the patio to stay out of the way, and I could see them scrubbing away at our kitchen floor!) They even got the weird mold out of the stubborn corners of our ancient shower. Nothing broken and every knicknack has been dusted under.
For my 1000 sq ft 2 bd/2ba, it took from 9-2:30, so an extra 2.5 hours from the initial quote of 2.5 hours. But our house has not been professionally cleaned in years, so although it was tidy, it needed a scrub.

Annie and Vilma were so amazing and thorough. I needed a Spring deep cleaning and had hoped the 2.5 hours would be enough for my bathroom and kitchen. It took 3.5 hours – but everything was sparkling clean, as if I had just moved in. They were patient and thorough and it was worth every penny.

Capital Maid helped me clean my living room and a bathroom. For the living room, I also have the carpet cleaned.
First of all, the price is very good. I have called several companies for a quote and their price is good.
Second, they provide carpet cleaning service will other normal cleaning. Some carpet cleaning companies only do carpet cleaning, while others only offer normal cleaning services.
Third, they have done a PERFECT job. My bathroom is small so we are expecting it to take 1 hour. I paid in advance based on this estimated time. However, it turns out to be … kinda dirty lol. It took them 2 hour to finish it and they did not ask for ADDITIONAL PAYMENT!!
I will definitely use this corporation again and recommend them to my friends.

We have been using Capital Maid Service regularly over the last few years and they have always been fantastic. They are extremely thorough, polite, conscientious and flexible. The work they do is excellent and I can never believe how clean things are which I didn't even know could be cleaned (did you know your shower knobs could sparkle?)
Price is very reasonable, and they always have at least two people come so that they are doing lots very quickly.

Four and a half stars. You know those household product commercials where the cartoon mascot whirls across the screen and leaves glinting surfaces in its wake? That's basically Capital Maids. I price-shopped around a bit and they were one of the two most reasonable quotes offered. I presented them with an apartment that was not much better than a hovel, and they slaved over my 1000-sq ft move-out clean until I had an almost pristine living space, including the signature toilet paper triangle fold and tissue box fan. I have slept in grimier hotels! Thanks to them, I will be able to leave my rental in better shape than I received it in.
I had asked them to cut certain corners to reduce their time investment (and pro tip, be very specific with anything you don't want them to do), and 75% of these were obeyed. There were some 1% details that I came across like two tiny fragments of broken glass (not created by them, my roommate broke roughly one tumbler per year) that likely slipped out of a dustpan when being put into the garbage; some coffee backsplash near my roommate's coffeepot; some mopping residue, items put back in different places, and a moist piece of trash was left on a porous collectible. That said, I was super impressed how they dusted surfaces I couldn't reach even with the aid of a stool, cleaned grates that I didn't even know could pop out, and spent hours scrubbing out the bathroom mildew better than I could have hoped for. Our recycling and trash cans were emptied for us so they could clean those for us too.
Nigh on five stars for the cleaning, four-ish stars for the administrative details. Their online scheduler was broken, but they were regularly responsive to emails. Ilvea called the day before my original appointment to ask if they could push back the service appointment by two hours. They give a 45 minute window for arrival time, which the two-person crew did show 30 minutes into. I would have loved a heads up upon arrival or a midday update that they expected the job to take 3.5 hours longer than originally planned. I was pleasantly horrified to find them still wrapping up as I stopped home between shifts (I could smell how clean it was, but I was adding up the overage charges in my head). They locked up behind themselves and thankfully I could PayPal the difference despite the requirement of the original fee to be in cash. All things considered, I would still recommend and personally use them again in the future.

I have not used all of their maids, but of the ones who have cleaned my place, I would say that if you're detail oriented that you would not be so satisfied. For example, I have white stone countertops or light colored stone bathroom floors, they leave water marks on then. I'm not sure if they just dump a tub of liquid before cleaning, but any experienced cleaner would know you have to clean light colored stone a different way. And they sometimes use your paper towels to clean. Again, I didn't use all the maids . The three stars are just for those who I have used.
Update on my review- the owner messaged me saying that they have never cleaned my place and that my review is fake. Actually I use my second name on yelp and not my name that goes on billing, etc. So I have used their service and am downgrading to a 1 because the owner made a comment on my other reviews saying they're fake. This says something about the way they do business.

They are alway professional. Always courteous. Always flexible. Always do a fantastic job top to bottom. After they have visited, the house is clean and tidy. They have been very responsive any time I have had to change the day of my cleaning.

Great choice! I hired Capital Maids in 2014 for a move in/out cleaning before a new tenant moved into my condo. They did a great job, so much so that my tenant then asked who I used so she could use them to help her clean out the place she was moving from. I recently sought to have them for a return service before another new tenant moved in. They were incredibly flexible on timing (moving my appointment no less than 5 times and on short notice), due to my tenant's changing move out dates. I highly recommend Capital Maids not only because of their great work, but also because of their flexibility and customer service. One note, I communicated with them solely via email because I couldn't reach anyone by phone.

I can not rave about this company enough!! I had the best experience with Capital Maid Service. They fit me in last minute for a thorough cleaning top to bottom…our place has never looked so good! My husband is extremely OCD and the team they sent out cleaned ever nook and cranny leaving no trace of dust behind! Update- the response by capital maids management further shows the utter disregard for service as they inaccurately claim there was "clutter" and the silver polish was of two fist sized items and the leather cleaning something that had been included in all previous cleanings by them. As for rushing that's untrue too as I clearly told the maids to take their time as I was leaving and would not be back till many hours later.
I am highly disappointed in the dismal service and cleaning I received today.
1) Your maids arrived 1.5 hours later than they were scheduled because management gave them the wrong address. I had scheduled this cleaning more than 2 weeks ago and had planned my day accordingly so that the maids would be done by 6 and I would come home to pay them and then go on elsewhere. Obviously, their timing did not allow me to do this.
2) I was late for my further plans and upon coming home I saw that the cleaning was very low quality. Please look at the attached photos for evidence. I had to spend an hour upon coming home re-cleaning my apartment as you maids had left it dirty. The pictures show how the bathroom floor (marble slabs) were filthy dirty and I have attached what the clean marble slabs looked like after I cleaned them. I paid a lot for your cleaning services and it is unacceptable that I had to spend an hour cleaning my apartment because your company did not provide the service expected. The pictures show how much dirt/dust/hair I swept off the floors (again, what do I get maids for if I have to end up cleaning everything myself????) Floors also had watermarks on them, and overall I had to sweep the whole house again; scrub the tub; clean the marble slabs in the bathroom; clean the exterior of my plastic drawers and revaccum- what did your expensive service provide????
3) In my emails for the past 3 months I always specifically say I would prefer the same ladies (Annie and Olfa) as I was satisfied with their cleaning. I scheduled this appointment many weeks ago and if these two were not available I should have been informed by your management. This never happened and I returned home to 2 completely new maids unknown to me, whose cleaning as I have already mentioned was not of good quality.
As a company that is hired to clean, the least that is expected from your service is a clean house. This was not at all achieved at my house today.
I paid for a CLEANING of my apartment, but as is very obvious my apartment wasn't really cleaned. Considering the fact that your company took payment for a service they did not provide me this time, I'd like to receive a response that addresses my concerns.
I have been a loyal customer because I liked the quality of cleaning Annie and Olfa provided- but this experience this time (with both, the management and the quality of cleaning) has been highly disappointing.
I sent them this feedback right after their service and was met with a cold and nonchalant email about how they would take this feedback into account. No attempt to correct for this horrible cleaning or to offer to have maids come by to clean the house properly; something they should have done the first time
