Let me preface this by saying that based on the quality of work and the face-to-face interactions alone, this would easily be a 5-star review, especially for the Ithaca area.
I contacted ICC to clean my (fairly nice) apartment after calling several other yelp-rated services, none of which responded satisfactorily. As ICC was lacking any yelp reviews, I had my doubts but tried anyway. Long story short, I scheduled a cleaning through this nice lady named Ellie, but the appointment fell through due to miscommunications on their end.
I called again to reschedule as it was imperative for me to have this done soon. Second time's the charm: they sent Martha, who came promptly at 8am and did great work around the house. My fairly disgusting kitchen became spotless, and the windows and floors were thoroughly cleaned. Martha had a great work ethic and was proactive in making sure everything was to my liking. Highly recommended!

The two ladies that came in to do my move-out cleaning for my apartment were incredible. My place was an absolute disaster and they had it sparkling clean very quickly and efficiently. The moved around the appliances to get behind every nook and cranny and every corner and space was completely thoroughly cleaned. I couldn't thank them enough for it when they were done.
You always get worried that people are going to overcharge you, or do a bad job, but they did a marvelous job for an extremely reasonable rate. Plus they work on weekends!
The only negative (and why its 4 stars instead of 5) was that they arrived about 20 minutes late with no check in. And I didn't receive my confirmation text/email the day before like I said I would receive (so I texted them to confirm), so I was really worried that they would no show. But they did show up and got right to work when they arrived.

They came, they saw, they conquered. I feel like that pretty much sums up my experience. You have to book them for at least two hours for cleaning, which was fine because their prices are extremely reasonable and I had two people come to my house. I really just needed them to clean my fridge because I'm a diva and fridges gross me out, but in the span of an hour they had cleaned my fridge and freezer spotlessly as well as the stove and sink. It came to $40+tip….well worth it in my opinion. I should also note that I've had fridges in the past professionally cleaned and comparatively I think they did a better job.

The worst service I've ever seen. We had to clean our entire house upon moving in after they supposedly cleaned top to bottom. Cupboards were filthy, floor boards and dog hair everywhere. Windows weren't done and they promised they were. Awful.

I was appalled as i knew i could clean it with vinegar in less than 5 minutes…wnich i did after they abruptly left. My friend wasnt comfortable with having me clean for him so thats why icalled tbem

I decided to use a cleaning company for the first time ever because I had just bought a house which was completely empty inside back in December and being that I was 39 weeks pregnant I didn't have the energy to clean a 4 bedroom house with two full bathrooms. I was told over the phone that they didn't wash walls and I was ok with that being around Christmas time no other cleaning company was available and I was giving birth any day and wanted to move in right away. Merry maids had an opening. So I discussed with the lady over the phone that they would clean inside cabinets and closets and clean bathroom sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors etc the usual cleaning besides walls and windows. I am completely unhappy with the type of "cleaning job" these people did. I could have done a better job at it and saved myself over $450 in the process. Every time I turned around I had to clean something myself that was supposed to be cleaned. I asked myself for months what did they even do here besides vacuum the rugs and I only know this because I've seen the lines in the carpet. Now I would have posted something sooner but being a new mother to a newborn I didn't have the time nor did I have the time to re-clean everything that they were supposed to do. I would never recommend this cleaning service to anyone. Save yourself the money and hire someone else. Thank you

Merry Maids did a great job helping our house shine for its first real estate showing. We liked that they used environmentally-friendly vinegar and water to clean our hardwood floors. Most of all, we were impressed with their honesty. One of them found a diamond stud earring that went missing months ago, and left it on our dresser! We would recommend Merry Maids to anyone.

I am very disappointed. We had signed up for a year's worth of cleaning and have canceled after the second visit because of their terrible customer service. I had to cancel an appointment because I did not get a call the day prior to service like they had said they would do. I have chemical sensitivities and need to supply my own cleaning products but because we did not receive a call the night before as promised I was not able to make sure we had enough cleaner before they arrived and using their cleaning will put me in respiratory distress. After talking to the manager and explaining what had happened, she said she was going to have to charge me a $50 rescheduling fee because we did not call to cancel prior to the visit. I asked to have the fee waived since we did not receive a call and she said there was nothing she could do about it, it was their policy. However, it is also their policy to call and we did not receive a call either. I asked to talk to someone else who might be able to help me if she was not able to and she said there was no one else. There is always someone else. I told her it made no sense for her to lose a year's worth of cleaning over a $50 cancellation fee under special circumstances. Then she said she would happily suspend my service for the year since she does not allow such an argumentative tone to be taken with her. I was very polite, although in disagreement the entire time. I am a very reasonable person and do not usually leave negative reviews, but being in customer service myself there was nothing about this interaction that made any sense to me. I will be happy to take my patronage elsewhere.

For mothers day my husband and boys had merry maids come out and clean our home while we were at work. Two women were here for 5 hours. When we entered the house we saw the floors were clean but had a sticky film on the tiles and hard woods. Other than that and our 3 bathrooms im not sure what they did. Our glass cupboards and mirrors we either left undone or were streaked and had a film on them. The picture frames, wall hanging and nic nacs were all dusty. After calling to complain we were told someone would come out and check the job in 3 days. We could also have these same ladies come again the next week maybe. We took dozens of pictures showing counter tops where nothing was moved, glass doors, pictire frames, cobwebs and more. My boys commented they thought the ladies were coming out today to help out and could not believe they had aready been here. The cost was over $300 dollars andand what they did was the basic stuff i do in an hour while taking care of 4 boys. Worse yet was my families disappoint over a gift that thought was going to be the best ever that turned into a huge headache.
