We were lucky to get her to deep clean the house we moved in and the condo we moved out from. Now looking forward I see how lucky we were!! Keep reading.
After that it was quite difficult to get in her schedule for a regular bimonthly cleaning. She wouldn't pick up the phone or answer to texts for two weeks or so.
When she finally did, she explained that she had had some health issues. The day she was supposed to finally start, she didn't come as she had committed too, only her other employee who was 1 hour late and left half way due to a personal emergency.
We were expecting an apology and being communicated when the work would be resumed and finished, but we instead received an invoice. I finally learnt she had more health issues after ME contacting HER via text. I just wish she would have been more communicative upfront so we could plan around.
She finally canceled the invoice.

Excellent customer service from first touch to last. Rob was especially considerate and friendly and did a great job to get me scheduled quickly! He put up with my several questions and let me know about the price change once the cleaners arrived at my house and evaluated. I got home from work and my house looks GREAT! I'm happy now and no longer feel like I need to walk around with shoes on and that my dogs toys shouldn't touch the floor 🙂 it wasn't cheap but it was worth it.

First off – the workers are great. I feel bad for them because between the owner and office manager they are no doubt having to endure a Hostile Work Environment. Owner is self-aggrandizing, holier than thou. God forbid you have to call into the office – you will be bullied – how dare you even think you can talk to the King & the Queen. They think they are the only game in town. You own a tiny business. A cleaning business. Get over yourself. Owner wished me luck finding a new service – no luck needed. Plenty of options out there – and how refreshing to be treated with dignity and respect on the phone by professionals who value your business. And price point – well… let's just say with Green Clean it's ridiculous. If they're not careful they won't have any customers to push around anymore.

Green clean started off well enough and did a thorough initial cleaning but as I continued to have them come on a biweekly basis, the quality of work degraded more and more. Every time they would miss something I would let them know and they would assure me that it would be addressed on a subsequent visit, but it never was.
After taking a break from them, I decided to try them again but their pricing model is ridiculous. They quoted me at $366 for a deep clean in December and remember they know exactly what the job entails, and when I got in touch in January the price had gone up to $564.
Stay far away is my recommendation. They started out fine but the drop off in quality of work while simultaneously jacking up the prices is inexcusable. Not to mention there are plenty of other options available.

I have been using this company for about 6 months now and I love them! The staff is so friendly, yet very unobtrusive (I work from home sometimes) and focused. As someone who is very sensitive to smells, the fragrance of the lemon grass completely works for me. My house smells clean and fresh in a natural way.
I have the crew come every week and they are very efficient and systematic about their cleaning approach. They can clean my desired areas within my budget, no problem. I also love how I have the payment set up on autopay to charge my credit card every week, so I earn airline miles for getting my house cleaned! How about that?
The communication between the me and the company is terrific. I get a text every week to let me know when they are coming, and when there is a problem they will contact me. I also love the notes they leave at the end of each session. A nice touch!

The staff is extremely friendly, as I have spoken to them on the phone several times and am always greeted with someone helpful and cheery.
They do an excellent job cleaning and always leave a super cute note somewhere.
I like how they have a key to my place, so I don't have to worry about meeting someone to unlock the door. I just go to work, and come home to a spotless apartment! They also have a system where the key to your house does not have a tag with attached address. Adds to the security.
My home always smells minty fresh and I am comfortable knowing no harsh chemicals were used around my kitties.
They are pleasant, professional and certainly get the job done!

Yes, you must love the smell of vinegar–but that smell comes with a sparkle and the peace of mind that your house is chem-free. Which is amazing: We had hard water marks in a shower that I had tried to remove with a whole variety of methods and magic potions with no success, but after our initial deep clean, *poof* they were gone.
So yes, when you sign up they will schedule a long, expensive deep clean (which will likely be a lower price than the estimate), but this makes sense: They're getting your house up to their maintenance standards and figuring out your layout and needs. The pricing structure is a la carte. We have a regular plan that they are flexible about adding or subtracting from. For example: Our usual does not include a guest shower, but we can call any time and they'll add it on. They also give you a reminder 24 hours before service with an hour time window of arrival. It's usually the same time.
Green Clean works in teams (for us it's somewhere between 2-4 people), but the team leader is always someone who is familiar with you/your house. I feel good about everyone that's been here and they take the time to write sweet, personalized notes. If I had any qualms about the people we would drop the service (having a child makes you a bit more black and white about things like that!).
I've always had great interactions over the phone with the owner, Joe and I like that they try to support other non-profits. With a toddler and two dogs we wouldn't consider a service that wasn't environmentally friendly, so I'm glad that we've been happy with these guys. Sometimes the level of cleaning is a little bit inconsistent, and occasionally time estimates are off (usually when it's not on our regular schedule), but I always feel like we've gotten our money's worth. Every single cleaning I wonder how they get our slate kitchen floor to look so good–we've never been as successful! I'll have to ask.
The main reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is that the price has gone up since we started service about a year and a half ago. I'm sure there are legitimate business reasons for that, but every so often my husband and I have a budget conversation and consider letting the service go. We just can't bring ourselves to do it though, because the amount of time it would take the two of us to achieve their level of clean is just silly and would not happen every two weeks (we do twice monthly).
As a funny, final note: One time while dusting, they accidentally decapitated a dead dragonfly I had perched on a book. They left a note of apology and asked if there was anything they could do about it! I mostly just felt badly that they have to deal with weirdos like us who have them dust around dead insects. If I had thought about that first I would have gotten rid of it!

I had never used a cleaning service before, so when I needed one for a venue post-party I wasn't entirely sure who to call. But I remember hearing about Green Clean Maine on WCLZ and from Buy Local, and their mission (to bring non-toxic alternatives to the professional cleaning world) aligned with my personal eco-conscious beliefs. So, I called them and the owner, Joe Walsh, answered. I told him that we were hosting a charity event for Portland Trails (an NPO near-and-dear to Green Clean's heart come to find out) and I just needed a little help cleaning a bathroom or two and a giant U-shaped hallway the next morning. Joe immediately asked me some relevant and in-depth follow-up questions: where was the venue, what did it look like outside of being a U-shaped, who was I, what was my involvement with the party, etc. After about fifteen minutes, Joe – and I totally didn't see this coming or expect this at all – offered me a HUGE discount on services because it was for Portland Trails. I was blown away and totally humbled by this. So, not only do they use environmentally friendly cleaners but their customer service is out of this world, too.
Call me a fan for a life.
I arrived at the venue the morning after the party the same time two girls from the company showed up. They were all smiles (in a totally genuine way) and kind, made eye contact, and asked more relevant questions about the building and the party itself. I warned them that the bathrooms were a little on the gross side, and they just laughed like it wasn't that big of a deal. I felt instantly entirely trusting of these two and a little more in love with Green Clean.
This is my preferred cleaner now. I can't see using anyone else for my future needs; and, I'm also crazy interested in their home cleaning options now, too

I'm a cleaning fool. Everything in my house. If those grooves on top of a bedside radio have a sign of dust, I'm taking it out. Tops of door thresholds? Never dirty in my place. Clean toilet bowls and undersides of toilet seats… even with two guys with less than perfect aims in the house. I like clean, and I typically hate paying for a service because it doesn't clean as well as I can – But these folks do.
They were really friendly when I contacted them. Of course they recommend starting out with a deep cleaning visit, a bit more steep of a price the first time but they get everything. I'd just had a deep cleaning from another service that I didn't want to continue with, so the GC folks set me up on a biweekly schedule. Rates were very affordable and in line with other local cleaning service providers. You're assigned a 'team', people you'll see on a regular basis. All staff have uniforms and their own tools and supplies, unless you prefer them to use your own.
I really couldn't be happier with them. Ask for Beth's team or even Joshua's. They're flexible on schedule, arrive in company cars… Really, you can't get better, more professional, reliable and affordable service than these guys.

Have you noticed all these reviews take place in a span on a few months? That is because the owner did a "leave us a review and we will give money to a charity of your choice" promotion. I used the service for about two years, but got totally sick of the way he treats his employees, the staff turn around, the changes in policies, and the fee increases. I only stuck with the service because he hires some great kids to do the work.
I should have trust my instincts from the first day. The owner came by to check out the team's work and afterwards he called me to inform me he was interested in some items I was working on in my studio. Err, I thought I hired you guys to clean my home – not to give you a private viewing. The cleaning was what I would expect and, like I said, the cleaning crew were great. Yet, as a local business, there is much better out there.
Do not get suckered into the reviews. Like I said, he ran a promotion… you have got to be kidding!

I want to start by saying that I think this company wants to be better- the best even. in fact, they said so in their correspondences. Their customer service is responsive and attentive. We really wanted to like them. But for the money they charge (definitely at the higher end), the job they do really isn't much to speak of.
in the past, house cleaners have made our bed, straightened furniture, even folded clean dish rags. We consistently found appliances (stove, fridge, dishwasher) dirty and untouched. The rugs clearly hadn't been moved to get dirt underneath. And they upcharged for any alterations (such as windiows, baseboard, etc) which really should have been part of the base package. I'm convinced that we can find a cleaning service that can meet our needs better.
