I admit it, I am anal about the cleanliness of my house. I tried at least 3 cleaners and was consistently disappointed by their lack of attention to detail – like just dusting around items instead of picking everything up and dusting underneath and the item itself. Wow! We recently remodeled and added on to an older house, and were looking for someone to clean. I read great reviews about Green Clean by G, so decided to get in contact with her. The new house is fairly large, and with all the construction and things that are still in process, all was very dusty and hard to stay ahead of. Gina suggested our first engagement should be a deep clean involving the majority of the day with her and one of her team members, Maryum. We experienced everything in the reviews – they did an amazing job – very detailed and every nook and cranny covered! Things in the old part of the house that I thought would never look that good were brought back to life, and our wood pieces looked shiny and happy. I appreciated the care that was shown – they walked through with us and described how they would be cleaning and the products that would be used. Questions were asked about fragile items and it was clear they wanted to be sure all would be done as we wanted. I don't know who did what work, but I do know Maryum did the bathrooms — they were spotless; cleaned very thoroughly. All was cleaned and and put back perfectly. Just moved up here recently into a townhouse that had been sitting empty for almost 2 months. With the the craziness surrounding a move and putting everything away, 5 weeks passed by in a blink. We've cleaned, but the place needed a heavy scrubbing to really make it feel like home.
Gina swung by on her day off on short notice to spend 5 hours cleaning our home. When I got home that night, it honestly felt like a new house. Krissy does a great job – very thorough. I'm not great at maintenance cleaning in between visits, so I always love the contrast before and after Krissy has cleaned – the bathroom and kitchen in particular are sparkling after she's been through them. I also love that she uses gentle cleaning products, so I don't have to worry about anything toxic to the kitties being left around.

I have been blessed by Gina. My house was terribly dirty and cluttered and I was so embarrassed anytime someone came over.
On the day of my cleaning, I came home from work to find Gina, and I went into my room and instantly burst into tears. I hadn't seen my room clean like this in over a year and I was so happy. If you want somebody to clean your house on a regular basis and actually do what they say they will… Run like hell and find someone competent. If you read closely through the reviews the majority of people only had one time cleanings. I wish I had paid attention to this previously.
Prior to their first visit I was assured they would use unscented products which is something they advertise. The owner came with the workers during the first cleaning and HE put toxic oven cleaner in my oven and turned it on. When I asked him why he did it, he said he forgot. Really? On the first visit? Only after I complained did he give me a discount on the invoice. The toxic stench in my house didn't clear for at least a week and a half. Keep in mind I have a self cleaning oven that doesn't require chemicals and my oven had recently been cleaned. The deep cleaning also included an unwanted window cleaning which made my picture windows look like crap. See picture below.
You can see how bad the chemical smell was by looking at the VOCs that were registered that day on my hepa filter and that was with the kitchen doors wide-open!!!See other picture for Volatile chemical reading.
I was on a biweekly service and had requested to have the same individual, each and every time. In the beginning the owner promised this to me. Half way through this time period he promised me yet again that I would have just one individual and one back up worker on the regular.
You may not care how many people come through your house during Covid but I certainly do. I also care if a business owner gives me his word and then breaks it.
It was a pain in the ass to show each new person where everything was and what was required. This was especially true because they were using our steam cleaner, supplies and other equipment. In other words there was a time and effort drain, for me to train each person on the steamer and where everything was stored.
The whole reason I was having a cleaning service was to help me from having to climb up and down the stairs constantly.
In the three months that we used the service, which was to be six cleanings, there were six different individuals in our house. There would have been a seventh if I had not objected on the sixth visit this past week. When I asked the owner to reschedule vis email (thinking that I could've found a different time in my schedule for someone I knew to come over) he wrote back:
"Knowing how important stability is for you, I think we're not the right fit for your needs. We have regular turnover, and I can't assure that you will always have the same cleaner.
Thanks for giving us a try, and best of luck."
Pre-holidays and after supporting his company for three months, leaving me in the lurch with no notice and no effort to reschedule is just plain unprofessional.
Hopefully this review helps someone out there to make a better choice than I did in choosing this company.

Easy-to-schedule and great cleaning job from this company! I was getting an apartment cleaned out before moving out and it was super easy to get a quote online and book a time slot that worked with our schedule.
Quinn was great — she arrived on time and was super communicative and sweet. She also did an awesome job cleaning! All the floors were sweeped, as well as bathroom and kitchen counters scrubbed. The carpet in the rooms were vacuumed and furniture wiped down as well. Everything was spotless by the end and Quinn worked efficiently and quickly too!
Payment is through the online portal. We were provided with an invoice that I could pay with a card. Overall a reliable and affordable service, would highly recommend!

A friend hired this company to do a deep clean and some ongoing clean for my family, as I am severely overworked and chronically ill.
They called and scheduled two cleaners for March 15. The morning of the 15th, they called and canceled stating "our cleaner" (what happened to two cleaners!?) had called in sick.
They never called back to reschedule, so I did. Repeatedly. They don't answer their phone, and they never return calls.
I'm not convinced this company exists. Pure scam artists.
UPDATE: After over two weeks of repeated calls to Kit Cody, it took less than two hours after my having posted the above review for them to respond to my many attempts to reach them. They stated they'd never been paid (which is untrue) and would not work for me. The last communication I had with them was over two weeks over. When they apologized for canceling at the last minute and offered to reschedule. Then two week+ of ignored my calls. Then an emailed refusal to work with me an and lies claiming they hadn't been paid.
Do not hired these incredibly sketchy liars.

My family of four is at the tail end of a big move, from our rental of two years into our first purchased home. We have been putting in lots of labor preparing the new house and packing, so we just didn't have the bandwidth left to deep clean the rental. And, to be honest, it was in pretty rough shape from some serious pandemic-related ambivalence to dirt.
Booking our appointment with Cleaning Crew was easy–the communication from Kit was prompt, clear, and friendly. I did a brief walkthrough with Kit when the team arrived yesterday to point out the spots we were most concerned about. When we stopped by later in the day, we were amazed with the job that had been done. The attention to detail was excellent. Everything was so spic and span, and I think it was even cleaner than when we moved in. Also, the price was incredibly reasonable, and I wouldn't hesitate a moment to hire Cleaning Crew again. In fact, we're going to contact them next about setting up a routine cleaning at our new place. I couldn't recommend them more!

I would encourage folks hiring the cleaning crew to know exactly what you want and communicate that to ensure everything meets your needs, as the cleaner was very receptive and followed requests easily. I am kind of picky about our bathroom since it is pretty much all white tile, even on the floor. It is not easy to clean but they did a super job. Great job in the kitchen too (and floors).
Very responsive, competitively priced, and the cleaners are masked when they come over.
I really like their online portal where you can schedule, pay invoices, see receipts, etc.
One thing I would love was to know that the cleaner was vaccinated since it is not the same person each time and we work from home so it would be more comfortable to know whoever we are having in our house is not bringing in COVID.

We've been using Maids By Trade to clean our home every 2 weeks for 7 years. They are a great group of people.
They have been super consistent for us. We work from home and had a dog who was not friendly when people came into the house. So, we have always needed them to come at a consistent time and call ahead. And they always have!
I could count on one hand the number of accidents or mishaps that have happened in 7 years time. As a manager of people msyelf, I know that's an excellent record. The team listens to us when we ask them to change things, and there have never been any issues with payments.
The cost is higher than you would pay an individual, and my sense is that the company takes good care of its employees. That is why we use a company instead of an individual — so that they can hire and maintain a happy, well-cared-for workforce with a little infrastructure to support them. This is what Maids By Trade offers. But, it is still a small business with local employees.

Not even 1 star worthy but I was forced to in order to write this review. Basically, I've been robbed. Do not use their services. Not only did they not clean or provide services that were discussed and communicated, but spoke about me poorly in my own home, and then blamed me. The walls are filthy and so is the stove- which was discussed about needing to be cleaned. Apparently walls aren't included in their cleaning services- but requests aren't honored either as staff became angry with me. I was Told the first cleaning was a deep clean but the maids told me yesterday the first clean wasn't even up to their standards- but then wanted to charge me extra time to do so. When I spoke to supervisor she was extremely unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. I regret ever spending money here because my apartment is not even cleaned as discussed but they get to walk away with my money. What a waste of time. If you want to spend over $500 for these photos- that's your choice .

Highly recommended! From estimate to cleaning, this team impressed me! I reached out via Yelp, coordinated an estimate, they came out and answered all my questions and provided a lot of info, they confirmed the appointment in advance, let me know when they were 30 mins out, then showed up and got to work.
I didn't expect as much as I got–including little things like folding up blankets and organizing the remotes on my coffee table! My biggest headache is mini blinds, and they did a great job cleaning these (it's a bit extra, but worth it!).
Also, I work from home, but they worked around me for as long as they could before I had to move to another room. 🙂

Unfortunately, we recently had to discontinue using Maids by Trade. I say unfortunately, because my wife and I felt they did a good job, they were prompt and efficient, and they communicated well. We had used them for several years (they came every other Thursday), and the first problem occurred roughly a year ago. When we got home from work on a Thursday evening, my wife was unable to find her phone charger. Initially, we just assumed she had misplaced it and it would eventually turn up, but it never did. Still, we were unwilling to believe that one of the employees had taken it (it really seemed like a pretty ridiculous thing to steal), and we continued using them. No further problems occurred until just last week. My wife and I are currently working from home, and when we get the phone call that the maids are on their way, I tend to scoop up any valuables (phone, wallet, charger, etc.) and either put them in my pocket (the phone and wallet) or take them into our enclosed laundry room (we shut the door so the maids will know not to go in there). I then headed downstairs to our finished basement where the wife and I both work on the day the maids come. After they left, I went into the laundry room to grab my valuables, only to find out that now my phone charger was missing as well. We waited a few days to see if it would turn up (though I was fairly certain I'd put the charger in the laundry room with a number of other items), but no such luck.
Obviously, we had to fire them after this latest episode. Even so, I continue to shake my head over this behavior. What a ridiculous thing to steal, and how much more obvious can you be.

Before putting our house on the market Maids by Trade did a great job cleaning our house. The contracting process was quick and easy. Commuication was top notch. They arrived and completed as promised. I would definately recommend them to friends and family.

I have had a house cleaner for the last 15 years.I have had very few issues over the years. But this company has been difficult.
1. They have different teams come in, they have to be trained and told each time what to do. Many don't speak English. So this creates a problem.
2. I have had them put mats back in crooked. Their boss was there and he said, yeah I noticed that but didn't address it. I have had them put the sheets on the bed like it was a pillow instead of changing the sheets.
3. I called and made arrangements for them to keep my card and number for payment. They look the payment but have no recollection of this conversation and therefore didn't charge me for several cleanings. Warning: balloon payment!
4. I asked them to clean the lower bathroom now for 2 months now. I talked to the guy who verifies their work, I showed him exactly what I wanted. He said he would mark this down. I talked to the cleaners directly. I talked to the ladies on the phone in the office. We had an agreement about what was going to happen. This has yet to occur.
They sent out an email saying that we had to write a good review for the people to get raises.
I'm not happy. I don't recommend them at all.

My shower is like new, cobwebs gone, and my plantation shutters were meticulously dusted to perfection.! I am incredibly grateful Maids by Trade and will highly recommend them. The team that I had was AMAZING! I had to leave the house to get stitches just before they were set to arrive so I left them a short note and took off. When I came home they were elbows deep in cleaning but took the time to make sure that everything that I wanted done was noted, they even asked how my hand was doing. When I came home again the house was glittering. My floors and windows by my front door have never been cleaner. I was so happy with the service provided!
Emerald in the office was also great, she took down everything that I wanted done and was able to give me a VERY accurate estimate without even seeing the state of my home.

Astounding service!! I went to work and when I returned, my house was immaculate. I am a single parent with two teenage boys, two dogs and a cat, and I work full time. Though I clean on a regular basis, things get ahead of me! When they were done, my house was so clean and fresh. Every single thing was dusted. It smelled great. All the counters and fixtures were shiny and polished. Every inch, nook and cranny was clean. The floor shined. The carpets were all vacuumed. They paid attention to every detail. It made me so happy!
I've had this company come to my house twice and have been so impressed both times. Maids by Trade has far surpassed the other cleaning agencies I've used. Maids by Trade was my first cleaning company experience and they set the bar. When I needed someone last minute, I hired another well known popular company. They were friendly but they did not even come close to the level of care Maids by Trade provided.
They pay attention to every detail when they clean my house. I've had a team of 3 and a team of 2 come. They are courteous and professional. They were right on time too.
I highly recommend this company and will absolutely use them again. They exceeded my expectations. Just the best!!

Such a great experience with Maids By Trade!
We needed same day cleaning for a house we were moving out of. I called in the morning and April was able to set up a team to clean the entire house that afternoon. The estimate she gave me was 100% spot-on and she was super helpful and easy to coordinate with.
The cleaning crew did an incredible job and were very efficient and nice. Raz, Sandra, Zuleima, & Rubicel cleaned the entire house, which was not in great shape, and just a few hours. It was cleaner than when we moved in! I'm very impressed and would recommend Maids By Trade to anyone!!

Wow, so impressed by the work that Jose Luis & Osmarys provided. We needed a deep clean prior to moving in to our fixer upper, and Maids by Trade certainly came through for us.
We elected to not go with an on-site estimate prior to the appointment, but the estimate they gave us over the phone still proved very accurate. Upon arrival, the team walked through the home with me to ensure we were on the same page. They did a very thorough job, especially with our shelves, baseboards and windows.
I came home when the work was nearing completion, and was very impressed to find one of the company's "quality control" staff on site, ensuring that everything was cleaned to a high standard. He also informed me that the work would go slightly over the initial time estimate and explained why. The attention to detail and transparency were much appreciated.
You'd be hard-pressed to find such quality work for such a reasonable price elsewhere in PDX. Home cleaning services can be really hit or miss; this was definitely a home run for us.

I'm sorry to not be able to give a higher rating. I moved into my house 9 months ago and wanted to start getting a monthly cleaning service. I had an initial call where I described my house and what I was looking for. Tidy Gnomes charges more per hour for the first visit than do competing companies, but they were so responsive that I was comfortable proceeding with them. However, when cleaning day came, I was almost immediately contacted and told that the amount of time originally quoted wasn't going to be enough so I had to either cut out some of the spaces I wanted cleaned or pay for more time. I chose some spaces to not be cleaned. When I got home, I was disappointed to find that spaces that WERE cleaned were still dirty. Furniture remained unvacuumed and undusted, the floor was half-mopped, the walls and baseboards hadn't been touched. The stove was SPARKLING. It was clear that most of the time went to the stove, even though I was never consulted about that as a priority. Since communication was good up until that point, I was disappointed by that result. I was also told that cleaning the bathroom took longer than expected, but the shower door was still streaky and there were scuff marks all over the countertop. I contacted TG after this experience and they did discount the service. But I cannot recommend them, nor will I be hiring them again.

Love this cleaning service. They use Biodegradable/earth friendly non scented cleaning products that are great if you have small kids running around, nosey pets or just a lot of plants laying around the house. Super thorough with their deep cleans and are just sooo nice! Love this cleaning service! Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Charged multiple times for cleanings they did not complete -fixed only when I requested they remove the charge. Cancelled or changed services with less than 24 hours notice more than once but charged me $72 when I cancelled with 23 hours notice – then cited a days old policy I had never been shown before.
The work was always fine, the actual cleaners were kind and attentive, but I need a service that reduces stress-Tidy Gnomes consistently created more stress. I'm disorganized, that's why I hired cleaning help! Without close watch I would have been charged at least $400 for services NOT completed!
After a number of "one more chance" incidents we're moving on. The soothing emails and cute marketing doesn't replace good practice or fair policies.

I've had a lot of people clean my house over the years, and I'm really picky. I'm picky about the supplies they use (nothing toxic), if they mop behind the pedestal sink, sweep under the rug edges and under the bed, etc. Tidy Gnomes came and did a deep clean on the first floor (we have 3 floors), did our bathrooms, two of our bedrooms plus my office and it was fantastic! The walls are brighter, the woodwork looks fresh, and the kitchen was shiny clean. I can't wait to get the other two floors spring-cleaned. What a pleasure to have a job done right! And, I love the name "Tidy Gnomes." Highly recommend.

I've had the Gomes clean my 1000 square foot home once a month for the last year. They send two gnomes for two hours (4 gnome hours). Costs me about $100. Totally worth it for this working mom of two.
They deep clean my kitchen, bathroom and all my floors. Plus dust, wipe everything down and tidy up (kids beds made and arranged, magazines stacked neatly, etc.) I've left a note requesting extra work (windows, gritty windowsill tracks) and they always work it in.
They do not use chemicals so the house is clean, but scentless. They are always on time and responsive to my notes, requests and feedback. These local ladies are young, energetic and have a great business model. I was inspired to support their business and am pleased with the value and their work.

Gnomes might work in the garden but they sure did not work for me. Normally when we hire someone to do a deep clean the place looks and smells great- it pops when you walk in the door! Not this time. We had to search to see what they did. The house I needed cleaning was empty and less than 800 square feet. Having a number of rentals and having hired move out cleaners I have certain expectations both to the price and quality of service. They failed on both.
They came unprepared. They had no way of reaching the top shelves or light fixtures. When I pointed this out one of them went home and brought back two chairs. When I came to check on the progress about two hours the three of them had not moved out of the kitchen and bathroom. Neither room was that dirty. The exception was the oven. I had already cleaned the stove top and all of the drawers. I believe I also paid for their lunch break.
They did a very poor job on the window sills, floors and base boards. I had to go back and redo them.
Lastly, they seemed more concerned with cleaning out our prior tenants of their cleaning deposit than of providing us with an honest service. $455.00 dollars later, we felt that we were the ones taken to the cleaners.

These guys are awesome!! I needed desperate help with my place that was dusty beyond what my allergies could handle. I hired them for two hours and came home to a spotless apartment. The blinds and windows and floors and shelves and pictures were dust free. They got under books and electronics and into nooks and crannies. I'm so pleased.

I have wondered about the gnomes for three years now. They seem so Portland and perfect for my life. I called numerous other companies to clean my house and every time I disappointed. And today I came home absolutely delighted! My house is clean. The corners are clean. The surfaces are dusted, the towels are folded how I like them, the trash, recycling and compost was all taken out how I asked, it's fantastic! Seriously. I'm speechless at how much Celcilia and Deana saved my wedding day! They are truly awesome people and I'm grateful that I found them.
When I saw The Gnomes on Yelp two months ago, I was looking for someone to clean up after my wedding because our venue didn't offer a clean up crew. First, spoke to Cecilia on the phone and then met them both for tea to discuss the details of the wedding day. I was immediately impressed. The Gnomes were not only professional, but genuinely great people overall. They have a sense of humor and professionalism that makes you want to work with them everyday.
On the day of my wedding, they worked quickly and efficiently to make sure that everything was cleaned and organized as quickly as possible. I hardly noticed them during the party – they were working diligently behind the scenes to make sure everything was running smoothly. It wasn't until the party was winding down, that I came into the kitchen to find them working like a well-oiled machine to make sure that our venue was cleaned and organized on time. It was a big job and they tackled it with finesse, grace, and professionalism. I was impressed with their positive demeanor, even at the busiest part of the evening.
I would highly recommend The Gnomes for any event – especially a wedding – because they add a sweetness to the magic of such an event. I'm sure they're amazing housecleaners too. I'd hire them all the time if I didn't live in Seattle.

Having your house cleaned is such and intimate process, and in my experience can be somewhat uncomfortable. Not only because you are inviting a stranger into your home to clean up after your mess and scrub your toilet, but because (if you are like me) you may have some lingering guilt that you can't keep your own damn house clean!
Cici and Deana have been coming to our home regularly for about 5 months and I can't sing their praises enough. They came over for an initial consultation and it was such a warm and relaxed experience that I was immediately put at ease. They are thoughtful and respectful to my entire family and our home. They ask excellent questions and are attentive and interested in how our family and home operate. They are detailed and fast in their cleaning and always leave things beautifully arranged–beds, pillows on the sofa, soap bottles in the shower, counters in the kitchen, etc.
The main thing that I love is that they leave my house sparkling clean, smelling good, and in better shape then I could have managed myself. Not that I'm a complete slob or anything, but I have three young children so enough said…

I love the Tidy Gnomes. Honestly, I think a lot of people who hire people to help with the cleaning have unrealistic expectations. In my experience they are the most consistent of anyone I have ever hired. They are always on time. They do everything I ask them to do. The only thing that stands in their way is my disorganization and they even help with that where they can. One thing I love about them is that they NEVER reschedule me. Even around the holidays when they get a lot of requests for special help they are able to keep coming. They are lovely people with very sweet personalities. They are very kind to my old dog. I am often home when they are here, and they are BUSY the whole time. I highly recommend them, but I encourage people to be honest and realistic about what they expect to have done.

Clean Arrival Honest Reviews
I've been using this company for over a year now, and I have found them to be fair-minded when it comes to pricing (we have a big house, but we don't need the whole thing cleaned regularly, and they were willing to work with us to identify the right amount of cleaning to meet our needs). The communication is stellar, and with recent shifting needs around safety in regards to viral spread, I have been deeply appreciative of their willingness to wear masks and gloves for hours on end while they help us keep our house clean as we lose track of what day (or month) it is.
We use them once monthly and it has been a sanity saver. I fantasize about hiring them for a weekly visit… but in our case it may be some time before we're spending that kind of budget.
There have been a couple of cleanings here or there that didn't meet my expectations, and they have always been receptive to feedback and willing to take steps to make it right. (The very first clean, left a watermark from a mop bucket on our wood floor and I lost my marbles, but they made efforts and suggestions to fix the issue quickly). In my book customer service goes a LONG WAY. BUT also, the majority of cleanings have been fantastic and having my house clean enough to notice a mark on the floor, or a window blind that didn't get dusted is huge.
Your first visit you should plan on a deep clean, it does two things 1) it helps you and them get to know each other and your houses needs much better 2) it's easier to maintain monthly cleanings with a house that has already had the grout scrubbed.
Finally, I appreciate that we can add deep cleaning on specific items as needed. One month, we added just a deep oven clean and it was super helpful.
Professional, friendly, thorough, and a super easy to navigate online system coupled with helpful humans on the other end. My picky and cold-hearted consumer heart highly recommends these fine folks.

I don't usually leave negative reviews because I find them kind of pointless and somewhat cruel. I usually only leave good reviews unless something really stands out as bad. Most issues can be resolved by talking to a business owner, and I don't believe in leaving bad reviews to "punish" businesses. It's hard enough to be a business owner, honestly. But I felt that I should post my experience with Clean Arrival here because I chose them based on their good reviews, and I thought other potential customers should hear a not-so-great experience.
I had Clean Arrival clean my house about 3 or 4 times. They did an… OK to kind of bad job each time. I would give their cleaning quality overall 2.5 stars, maybe 3. I'd notice areas of the floor that were a slightly different color because they'd only mopped in the center of the room, not the entire thing. There would be spots on the floor from before the cleaning that just never got cleaned. I'd find dust bunnies in corners after they left, they never moved items on shelves to dust under them, there were cobwebs on my (low-hanging, not ceiling) kitchen lights, the list goes on and on.
These are things that just shouldn't happen when you're paying what feels like a lot of money to have a house cleaned. I'm a nice Italian girl from the east coast who loves cleaning her own house, lol, but I also have a disability and can't do it anymore. This is hard for me. So I told myself every cleaner misses things and I just had super high standards.
But then my duster went missing. My husband and I started to move into our house in September — but only began living here full-time around Thanksgiving. We just got married, so lots of items were being sent to the house from our registry. One of these items was the duster. It's an OXO duster, fancy, you know the kind. It went missing one day. Well, with COVID, we've had no one in our house but cleaners, so naturally I thought a cleaner from Clean Arrival accidentally packed it in with their stuff. I reached out to Alice, the owner, and asked her if this was possible and if she could check. She politely agreed to check, but stated shortly after that she couldn't find it among her vans. That's fine. I was pretty positive it got taken accidentally, but it's not a big deal, so I let it go. I definitely don't think anyone took it intentionally, for the record. The cleaners I had seemed very nice. It's just that items don't walk out of people's houses.
Had another cleaning that was… OK. It was before Christmas and we baked the cleaners cookies. They were nice, as they always were, but not thorough. Aside from the usual dust bunnies in corners, I noticed after they left that there was what looked like a bleach spot, or a spot of white discoloration, on the bathroom rug we just got off of our registry. These were nice Crate and Barrel rugs from our registry, and I was annoyed. I don't use bleach or any non-color safe cleaner and I hadn't cleaned since we got the rugs, just a few short days before. I reached out to Alice again and told her, politely, that I think a cleaner accidentally stained our new rug. She didn't offer to replace the rug. She replied that it's not possible, that they don't use non-color safe cleaners either. I understand that, but it's also simply not possible that this happened another way. Stranger things have happened, but this one was just not possible from any other source. So I didn't let it go this time: I requested a refund on the item, $35. I thought that was more than fair.
I also decided at her initial refusal that the subpar cleaning, inattention to detail, and making off with my stuff was enough and I reached out to other cleaners. I planned to inform her of this on Monday, but before I could I got an email from Alice stating, "We greatly appreciate your business, but I believe at this point our services are not the best fit for your needs and we will not be able to continue services." (It should be noted, Clean Arrival did offer to refund me $35 to replace the rug in that same email.)
This was the most bizarre message I'd ever received from a business owner. Who decides that replacing a $35 rug is grounds to terminate a business relationship with a client who is always kind, polite, and bakes your cleaners cookies? It was downright creepy. If I was hostile, demanding, rude, I could definitely understand. As a business owner, I would — and have — cut off customers who are abusive. But if a client politely states they know for a fact that an item was damaged by your cleaners and the item is $35, is it worth losing hundreds of dollars, thousands over years? Ultimately, this act is what made me write this review. I would caution anyone doing dealings with this company that their practices are, well, kind of unreasonable.

I found Clean Arrival by chance searching my map on the 'ol iPhone. Extremely satisfied!! The web page is easy to navigate; there are plenty of options and everything is fairly priced. The actual crew that showed up were early and they were professional and polite. I had paid for an additional charge to clean windows and the crew lead actually reported that I would receive that specific charge as a rebate. These folks are smart. Online scheduling. Online payment. Costs are upfront- no surprises. How come no one thought of this stuff before?
Cost is based on how many bedrooms/bathrooms you have. There's a checklist that tells you what they do and do not do. Takes the guesswork out of what sort of consistency you will get from a cleaning service. If you want that extra stuff…fridge cleaning, deep oven clean, walls cleaned, etc; add it on and they'll tell you what it costs.

Very thorough and attention to details missed by previous cleaners. Two cleaners were provided and they worked for three hours. Very polite and pleasant! There was a bit of a communication issue, but very efficient cleaners. It can be spendy to pay by the hour as they charge $60 per person, per hour. If I was to have them come on a regular basis, I would probably stick with two hours. I was very impressed by their attention to detail.

When getting a quote through the Yelp message service, they were quick to respond. I was also running late to let them into the house, and they were patient, which I appreciated. There was definitely a language barrier between me and the women doing the cleaning, so I wasn't able to discuss anything with them. We also had some construction going on in an area separate from the area being cleaned, and I wanted to let them know what the plan was, but wasn't able to. One of the women told me to call the main office when I tried to let her know I was leaving the house, but there was a language barrier between me and the person at the main office as well.
They were doing a move-in cleaning in a house we were moving into, and there were some spots that weren't cleaned as well as I would have liked. Overall, it was fine.

I can't even believe what happened to me earlier today. This company completely tried to scam me. Told me it was going to be $60/hr, then at the last min said that it was going to be $60 per girl, per hour– so $120/hr for the two of them. Which is beyond ridiculous.
Sent me two Russian girls who didn't speak any English. They were rude to me & made me very uncomfortable as they laughed at me & talked about me in Russian, all while sort of going through the motions of cleaning, but not actually cleaning. It was so weirdly comical and beyond frustrating. After giving them an hour to prove themselves to me, I had to kick them out. It was terrible. I have literally never had an experience this awful with any company, ever. Definitely do not hire them!

A 1-bed and 1-bath condo took two people 3.25 hours to clean. The rate at $50/person/hour is right but the time to clean was inflated. I keep my place fairly clean already so it was just deep cleaning needed. They don't clean on top of cabinets either because they don't have a step stool.
When I expressed my concerns with the owner she offered to fix the areas that were missed high up which I refused so she refunded some of my money.
Update: I was fully refunded.

We scheduled 7 cleaning and had to make a change last minute to our date and time. They were willing to work with us and update last minute. They did a phenomenal job cleaning and everything looked move-in ready when they were done! Some of the drawers I thought would be impossible to clean, they made spotless!!!! They also cleaned out all of our appliances, and even took out OUR trash when they were done (Not just trash they had, but emptied our actual trash cans)
The only thing I would say was that they quoted a certain amount per hour, but right before showing up, they confirmed that was per person per hour (so it was double that), and they didn't clean our ceiling fan. I will say though, we didn't put ceiling fans on the list of items to clean, and I was checking in often so they may have felt rushed.
Other than that, they were amazing!

My house had never been professionally cleaned. I'm not the best housekeeper. A lot of stuff had piled up over years. Add to that the fact that my son and his girlfriend moved in with their 2 German Shepherds and it was just overwhelming. I didn't know where to start.
7 Seven sent two people to clean my house and they were very nice women. They didn't speak much English but we were able to communicate with some effort and they were so friendly. I felt very comfortable having them in my home.
They worked very hard and were very thorough. I keep finding little details I hadn't even thought of that they attended to. Like how they organized my closet and cleaned my silverware caddy and got into little nooks and crannies.
There was some miscommunication over price. I was originally told 3-4 hours (on the phone) I but I knew it would probably be more because the condition of my house was so poor
But after they had gotten started I was then quoted 5 hours and I agreed. Well it took 7 hours which was a difference of $240.
I'm not going to deduct a star for that because the work they did was so amazing and I couldn't have done what they did if I spent a whole weekend cleaning.
I would definitely recommend this company. They do outstanding work! Also I called them on Monday and they were here on Tuesday! Some other companies told me they couldn't come until October!
7 Seven responded right away, showed up at 8:00 the next day, and I got outstanding service from two very friendly and professional people. You should see the way they work! I was so impressed! I will definitely call 7 Seven the next time I need help.

They did such a fantastic job! My apartment has never looked this great. It looks like it's brand new, like I'm living in a Home & Garden magazine.
I've lived here a little over a year and wanted to get it professionally cleaned to hit refresh now that it's spring. I'm pretty clean, but I like to get a detail clean professionally once a year. The woman who came was very professional and paid great attention to detail. I have a floofy cat and he's been shedding and she made it look like a cat doesn't even live here. There were also grease stains on the side of my fridge that I've been trying to remove for months, and they're completely gone now. It really feels like she went above and beyond and got every inch of this place.
I requested a quote through Yelp and they responded within 15 minutes. And every time I reached out, they got back to me almost immediately. They were also accommodating when I asked to push the scheduled cleaning time back a little. They gave me a really fair quote and accepted payment through Venmo, which was super convenient.
This was the absolute best house cleaning experience. Highly recommend them!

I'm was grateful to have help with cleaning, but I'm paying you to do the stuff I don't want to, like clean the floor around the toilet. I think I could have done a better job setting what my expectation were. Maybe? I just don't have anything to compare this experience to.

I had a great experience with these guys. Sergio and his helper came over and made the house sparkle. My house had been really dusty after a period of absence and there was also some deep set mildew and other stains. I was really impressed when I arrived 8 hours after the start time. Sergio even got out pee stains that my dog had left in the carpet. I felt like I was given a brand new house. As far as COVID protocol, they wore masks and gloves and disposable dusters and mops. Rachelle the manager always responded promptly via email answering all my questions. I will definitely use these guys again if I need it.

This company started out great when we first got in touch with them, but went downhill very quickly. After about 6 months of regular, biweekly cleanings, they raised their prices 30% without warning. I just got an invoice one day and the price was much higher. After going back and forth with them about this price, they admitted they had been overcharging us in the first place because they had our home size incorrectly in their system. After all of that, I still agreed to keep our next appointment, which they then cancelled the morning of, after I already told them it was the day before my son's birthday party and I really needed their help. Ended up cleaning the house myself. Never again will I use or recommend these people.

I recently moved from Portland to Keizer, although Best Portland Cleaners normally serviced in the Portland metro area they were able to work something out for me!
At first I had a moving out, deep clean on my one bedroom apartment. I was still actually in the process of packing my belongings while they were cleaning my home but they were able to to do their job while I did mine. I thought that maybe they'd miss some things since I hadn't completely got everything out but they didn't! They were able to get EVERYTHING. Every dust, every crumb, everything. I was so pleased by their service that I actually booked another appointment with them for a move-in, regular cleaning for my new home in Keizer.
I normally don't hire "professional cleaners" to clean my home but this company is DEFINITELY something I'd not only recommend but will definitely be a regular customer at ease.

I'm so relieved. Ben and Kate were on time, courteous, and requested I show them around before they started. I requested a deep, move-in cleaning. There was a lot to cover as there was an accumulation of dust, grime, cat hair, filth… years worth left by the previous home owner. The toilets were unusable and we didn't want to touch them. Every switch plate was grimy. Furnace air return was a biohazard.
Besides the major home cleaning tasks, here are some of the deep level items they covered during their nearly six hours of non stop cleaning (I was there for most of it):
-Wiped baseboards, grimy door spots, door jams, etc.
-Tops of bathroom vanity baseboards
-All pink and dark mold in shower surrounds and tubs
-Toilets (had to include because they were beyond unsanitary)
-Vacuumed and wipes furnace air return
-Window and sliding door tracks
-Wiped (dusting not enough) tops of bathroom light fixtures
-Inside of dishwasher
They worked smart, too, saving the main floor laminate, entry and entry stairs for last.
Ben was patient and professional as we did the final walk-through and I found little things, which he immediately took care of.

This was the worst experience with cleaners I have ever had. First they spent way longer than they said they would for a deep clean and charged me by the hour. They quoted 300 and by the time they were done they wanted to charge me 400. The house was not even clean by the time they "finished" the job. Avoid at all costs!

Today I had my first visit by Em-Maculate Cleaning Services. My visit was with Kara.
To set the scene: we live in a very light colored apartment with two dogs and yes, we clean, but we don't deep clean nearly enough and there is dog hair galore.
Kara arrived ready to go – super friendly, bubbly, and COVID safe. We went over what my very basic expectations were as a first time house cleaning user and then we took the dogs and left – mostly because I think I would be awkward, not her.
I got home and man, I don't even want to cook dinner because it's so clean and refreshing and beautiful. The communication, from start to finish, was quick, honest, and very direct – I wasn't left with any questions.
Kara is spectacular and I would 100% recommend her and Em-Maculate Cleaning for your needs.

In town cleaning out a house to sell. These 2 ladies came over with short notice & left cleanliness in their wake. They diligently deep cleaned whole house (2BR/1Ba) in 4 hours. Inside of fridge, oven & even dishwasher looked SO MUCH BETTER! Would definitely use them again if I lived here. We were working on parts of the house while they were there & they were very patient with us. 😉

Updating my review because the owner contacted me and we have an appointment booked for this week.
I actually thought they did a pretty good job at cleaning, but for whatever reason I have not been able to schedule a time for them to come clean. The owner just did not respond to my texts. Then out of the blue I get a message "confirming" a cleaning appointment which I had never scheduled in the first place. I canceled it since we already had another company coming that day, and the owner said if we needed service in the future to let her know.
Well, I did contact her again since I wasn't thrilled with the new company, and once again, I haven't heard back!
I wouldn't not have left this review except that I'm yelping cleaning services and their ad popped up. If they're paying for ads on yelp, why not just respond to potential customers who want to hire you!

Earlier this month we moved into a new house and had PDX Eco clean do a deep, move in clean. I originally tried to contact them via the information on their website with no response, but once I requested a quote via Yelp they got back to me quickly. All interaction was over Yelp; which turned out to be fine, but was a little confusing at the beginning. Two people showed up right on time the day scheduled for the appointment and were very friendly and professional. I was quoted a $/cleaner/hour as well as estimated hours, and they came in under the estimated hours (the house is in good shape). Overall they did a great job cleaning, the communication just didn't start off smoothly.

I had a bad experience with this company – not only with the actual cleaning job but then in the response to my communication about it thereafter.
I requested a "deep initial cleaning" (with the potential of doing ongoing cleaning) and got what I would call a "low quality regular cleaning". By low quality, I mean they cleaned my house less than I would if I were in a hurry. They didn't even do the floors – a basic cleaning task. I know they vacuumed and did something to them because they were sticky, but no spot cleaning was done and even the vacuuming wasn't thorough. By "spot cleaning" I mean, they weren't actually cleaned. They also didn't move anything – even my kitchen garbage. You get the idea – so no other details like baseboards, cabinets, obvious wall/door spots, under furniture or detail cleaning of any kind, anywhere – it was like they just wiped down the open spaces and counters. They did pay more attention to the stove and microwave, but that is pretty much the only thing I thought was done well.
Upon writing the owner, I was told my estimate was wrong and that my house was in "very bad shape" – which is subjective, but it wasn't anything crazy – just a lived in house that needed a "deep cleaning" – what I requested. I was met with several excuses and realized I was even charged for 40 minutes because the cleaners sat in their car "waiting for me to return" even though the owner told me they "ran out of time" to do the floors. The cleaners didn't communicate anything about needing more time or the fact that they didn't complete the job – I learned this after complaining to the owner.
I was ultimately refunded only $60 of my $255 and then, after many examples of an undone job, was offered for them to come back and clean 1-2 hours for free. I was so disappointed with the job and the excuses, I turned it down. I shouldn't feel like I still need to clean my house after I've hired someone to clean it – and I shouldn't have to tell a cleaning service how to complete obvious and typical cleaning tasks.
If you book this company, it is easy over Yelp and inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I'd recommend getting an in-person estimate (if they even do that) and be very specific about what you need (deep cleaning is not enough). For me, this company didn't have even basic cleaning standards – nothing close to what I would expect from a professional cleaning service with good Yelp reviews. I would not recommend this company to anyone based on my experience.

Zuzana's team came out to clean our home we recently purchased in West Linn. They did an excellent job! The previous owner was a cat owner and my partner is seriously allergic. The team was very detailed cleaning all areas of the home. We have now lived here for over a week and not a single sneeze. SUPER prompt communication when I asked for a quote via Yelp. They ask you do a "deep cleaning" first if you've never worked with them before they can schedule regular cleanings.
The deep cleaning is more expensive than their normal rate, but they charge $30/hr per cleaner, so for the deep clean they sent two cleaners and quoted me 3 hrs. They arrived promptly, were SUPER efficient, and were done in EXACTLY 3 hours. I think they make a point not to go beyond the price/time they've quoted you, which I really appreciate because it helps me budget.
We've only lived in our house a year, but I have 3 boys in this house who have, shall we say… LOWER STANDARDS of what "clean" entails. So While we'd vacuumed and wiped down counters on the regular, I hadn't realized how dirty the little things had gotten. They got all around the perimeter/edges of our carpet, into the nooks/crannies of countertops, and even scrubbed the heck out of our sad coffeemaker. They even VACUUMED out our stovetop. Extremely impressive how clean they got our house in 3 hours. I feel like another company could have totally kept cleaning for longer just by doing it more slowly, since they charge by the hour, but they were really fast and efficient so they could match our quote (and I know they were really good about this bc they regularly checked in with each other to see where they were in the process and how much time they had left). At the end of the time there wasn't a single thing left undone or where I felt like they'd cut corners. Super pro. Impressive!
Another reviewer mentioned they were cool with dogs, and I experienced that as well. I honestly haven't gotten professional cleaning done before so I didn't even realize other cleaners won't work with dogs present. Our 8 month old puppy was extremely interested in proceedings and barked her stupid head off for the first few minutes (you know, vacuums = ENEMY!), but both women were super nice to her and didn't mind her at all.

Zuzana and team are amazing! On extremely short notice, they did a move in DEEP cleaning for our new house. We walked in the door two days later and it was immaculate. Not only was it perfect, there was ZERO smell of any chemical which was so welcoming as we have two kiddos under 3. They are what they advertise and it was great. The cleaning was extremely reasonable from a price standpoint as well.
I'd highly recommend them, and if we have any other cleaning needs, we will definitely only use PDX Eco. Thanks yall!

I've tried other cleaners in the area. All do a fine job, but NOTHING like PDX Eco Cleaning.
Communication was top-notch, and scheduling was easy.
The cleaning was superb. I've never had such a thorough cleaning on the house! There was also a ton of respect paid to my home… no outside shoes indoors, for instance.
I'm not sure what products they use, but the house is clean as if it were new, and there's no odor. Some cleaners use scented products, which can get nauseating.
PDX Eco Cleaning is definitely my go-to from now on. From start to finish, the experience was five-star.
