After my fulltime job I work a couple nights baking at Historic Grounds Bakery & Coffee Shop in Metamora, IL. The owner of the bakery has Carol's Cleaning Service come in and do a really thorough cleaning of all our floors. Most of the flooring is original to the building – over 125 years old, and they are solid oak, refinished about 2 years ago. They do a great job on these floors, very thorough.
But what impresses me most about the two people that do the cleaning (I believe they are husband and wife, Mary & Roberto), is what a great job they do in our bakery/kitchen/coffee bar area. It's all cream color tile with pale grout. Plus we have 4 large black rubber slip resistant/schock absorbing mats over parts of the tile floor. Theses mats leave ugly black marks all over and the grout gets really bad in short order. Our floors take a lot of abuse. The floors have never looked as good as they have since Carol's staff been cleaning it. They get underneath ALL of our equipment (which is a feat unto itself), take all movable items off the floor, sweep and then wet clean. They do not cut corners in any way I can see. I feel bad when I start to work because I know I will mess them all up again :-). I have seen the results the last few months and last night I worked the night they cleaned and got to meet the Mary & Roberto. They were nice and polite, very quick and efficient. I was impressed. I asked if they do one-time home cleanings and they do. I gave them my number and I was told the manager would call me the next day. She did. 9:00 am I had a VM on my cell from Jenny. I called her back; she was very nice and is coming out in two days to give me a free estimate. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is because I have not had them do my home yet. If you have checked other reviews on line for them that aren't great, just keep in mind they are under new management now.

Contacted Doug on a Saturday afternoon through Yelp, expecting to get a response during normal business hours on Monday. I was pleasantly surprised when he called me a few minutes later. We talked about me needing all the carpet in my house cleaned. He asked great questions and gave me a not to exceed quote over the phone.
He and Greg showed up a few minutes before the scheduled time in a professional van with top-notch equipment. After touring the home and measuring the carpeted areas, Doug honored the phone quote even though the space was a little bigger than he anticipated. They went to work quickly and did a thorough job. They were able to get out some very old stains. The were pleasant and efficient.

Just a great all-around experience. First off, the carpets look great (and some of them haven't been cleaned since we moved in 6 years ago). Second, Doug is extremely professional and friendly. Outstanding experience. I only have positive things to say about Extreme Clean and the team.
Long story short, my dog didn't feel well and defecated/vomited all over my carpeted apartment for hours. The smell was horrible and there were stains everywhere. I tried to treat them myself with baking soda and vinegar, but it was so bad that I needed a professional's help. Doug was super quick in responding to my inquiry, upfront in giving an estimate, and even went out of the way to address my issue (his business is located in Bloomington and I'm in Champaign).
The team's polite, has a great sense of humor, and explained each step of the process as it's happening. After seeing the frightening reviews of the competition, I looked at Extreme Clean. Doug responded in 20 minutes to my request here on Yelp, and we set up an appointment.
Doug showed up, and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made the carpets in the house look like new, and they were not soaking wet like other services leave them. He has really innovative technology, and does not drag hoses through your house! I was afraid of that because they are working on the sidewalks and the exterior of the house is all muddy. He did not bring in a grain of dirt! Since I just painted, the interior of the house looks brand new now, I can't wait to move in the furniture!

The cleaning was okay, but they charged me $349.00 for a one bedroom with one & one-half baths. After complaining, they did come down to $250.00 but it was still NOT WORTH IT. I tried Molly Maid for three cleanings. The first clean was ok, but a few things were missed – shower in MBR wasn't cleaned well, guest bath trash not emptied. Second was better. Third clean was the worst and the last straw! It was obvious that items on the kitchen counter were not moved during cleaning because there were still crumbs around cannisters, etc. And counter was still sticky. Some mirrors weren't clean. Bathrooms fixtures had soap scum and water spots left. Their solution is have someone else come out and fix it. No, this is a waste of everyone's time for something that should have been done correctly the first time. Basic cleaning guidelines. Do not recommend.

Molly maid came to clean my gouse Before i got ready to sell it and i had to sweep the upstairs again after they left. They didnt touch the stairs with a vacuum, they didn't even open a closet to sweep or clean them at all. I also have a little inside porch area off my kitchen and that was untouched as well. Not impressed one bit and won't be using them ever again

I will never use them again. First of all, the lady on the phone was pretty rude and I should have cancelled the appointment right there. Then they showed up 2 hours later than the time they promised and they did a very bad job. They did such a bad job that I had to spend another hour cleaning after they left. They charge the top dollars but don't live up to it.

I've had mixed results with Cottage Care and I probably won't be calling them again. The last 3 times they came they did a great job. Today they showed up 1.5 hours early, and left without cleaning the toilets in my house. I'm pretty pissed that I dropped $100 for someone to vacuum and straighten up but damn.. they need to make more effort for that kind of money. The cleaners just left and my next task today is to clean the toilets.. doesn't seem right, does it?
