I had a plumber and carpenter working in my condo prior to my putting it up for sale. I was running short of time and really needed help cleaning up after the workmen were finished so that photos of my condo could be taken for the listing.

This company was very responsive to my call for cleaning help and arranged for a cleaner to come the very next day. Iman was polite and prepared to roll up her sleeves and do a good job cleaning kitchen cabinet doors, floors and windows.

Her work was thorough and she was very conscientious in her efforts. She came with her own equipment, but did use mine when I requested her to do so. I have allergies and my vacuum cleaner has extra filtration to keep dust from going back into the air, so I asked if she would please use mine, and she said no problem. : )

My condo is small, so I was a bit surprised to see that it took longer than I thought it would, and she had to speed up during her last hour to keep to the agreed 4 hours. I think that could have been prevented by keeping an eye on time as she worked, but again, she was very thorough and the results were good.

I will be calling this service again after my move to do an after move clean-up to keep it looking good for its sale!

I don't usually do this (ie write a review when I haven't used a service) but man am I put off by this company.

Disclaimer: I have not used their services and am writing my review about my interaction with the company.

My husband and I have been looking for a new cleaning service, and upon seeing the good reviews on Yelp about Montreal Maid Services, I contacted the company for a quote. I received a very short email from someone named Sami literally saying the following:

"Hello Noah.
The price is. 125$. Including. The maid. And. Cleaning kit"

I found the message to be a little cryptic (apart from it being badly written and my name being misspelled, but that's neither here nor there) and so I responded asking for more information. What did the service include? Was this price for a specific number of hours? What did the service exclude? I clarified that I had never used their service before and didn't really know much about their company but that any info would be appreciated. About an hour later, Sami called me and said "The service is $125. Any questions about that?". So I clarified that I sent my questions via email and would like those answered. I also told Sami that the connection was poor after having to ask him to repeat himself more than once. I asked him to send me the info by email because it would be easier that way instead of going back and forth on a bad connection and he simply said "well..it's too much detail". Nothing more nothing less. Just short, to the point, and completely not interested in making an effort.

To me, this indicates utmost laziness. Sami showed a complete unwillingness to even ATTEMPT to acquire new business and so, being very quickly turned off, I told him not to worry and that I would use another company that's willing to communicate. Without hesitation, he said ok and hung up.

I'm totally in awe by this behavior and have absolutely NO interest in giving this company my money. Can't speak for their cleaning service, but just by looking at this short interaction, I'd be nervous about what else could be in store for a potential customer with the Montreal Maid Service. 0 stars for customer service!

I was looking for a housekeeper and found this company here on Yelp! They have excellent reviews for a reason. I booked my appointment, and 2 very nice people showed up to clean my huge apartment. They bring their own supplies. The price is very reasonable, and the place was sparkling when they left. I was stunned that they cleaned a 4 bd 2 bath 2 story apartment in 3 hours. I believe it's cash only. I will be using them every month from now on.

The cleaners were hard-working and showed up on time to my rental unit. I appreciated their industry and attention to detail. Toward the end of the cleaning process, I heard a loud bang from the bathroom, after which someone swore loudly. I assumed that one of the cleaners had knocked a shin or a knee against the bathtub. I should have checked immediately. When I did a quick scan of the bathroom, I didn't see anything at first. After the cleaners left, I saw a small, but expensive looking, crack in my bathtub. Now, I had gone through the unit in detail with my tenants before they checked out. I knew there were no cracks in the bathtub before the cleaners came. I contacted Sami immediately. For some reason, he got his employee to call me (repeatedly!) and vociferously defend herself and her husband. She insisted that the loud bang I heard came from the kitchen or the closet, at the other end of the condo! Sorry, my hearing is better than that. Sami became very defensive over text messages, at one point resorting to mockery of my claim (never 'LOL" at a customer, Sami). Bottom line: the cleaning service was good, but careless enough to be wary. I paid nearly $300 (taxes included) for two cleaners/3 hours. Caveat emptor, folks.

I was not impressed – I booked 8-9 hours and the cleaner stayed for only 7, and when she left much of what I had asked for was not done. She skipped an entire room and missed many surfaces in the rooms she did clean. She also sprayed product in the oven and did not wipe it out, which could have given off fumes if I had turned the oven on before noticing.

I'm updating my review after about 2.5 years having this company do my house cleanup. I give 3 stars because overall, my experience is still better than with other companies. In fact, We had 2 great employees come to our house for several months each, but there seems to be an issue with the company retaining the good workers , and in between, we have people who are not too nice. The in-between workers don't stay for the full length of time (BTW, it's now 75$ for 3 hours), or have a bad attitude (not open to comments or talking on the phone while cleaning), or come in late, etc. The owner of the company is nice and is ready to send new people if I complain about those issues, and he is very responsive. but I am getting tired of having to complain every few months to get some good service.

I had booked a 1 time cleaning for my 2 bedroom apartment today. I was extremely pleased with the service.

I let the cleaning lady in, showed her the place and mentioned that I wanted her to focus on the kitchen and bathroom. We then left and came back 3 hours later once the job was done. Everything was spotless. My fridge went from pale yellow to white.

I payed no mind to the products that were used, I can only say that there was no lingering smell of chemicals or anything else, it smelled clean 🙂

I loved how easy it was to book online and having the option to choose the weekend days as well. I was contacted via email less than 48 hours later with a confirmation.

The only thing that made me not give the full five stars was that she showed up 30 minutes ahead of the planned time, which is better than late, however this made me wake up my toddler from her nap.

I am definitely booking again.

Very late, amateurish booking system. Had numerous problems with punctuality in the past as well.

Friendly cleaner, nice person for sure. But efficiency and quality is below par for the city and significantly higher than average pricing.

Pursue other cleaning services, the 'eco' thing is pretty unimportant when you can go buy 'eco' products very cheaply at the drugstore and save yourself at least $30 on overpriced service.

Terrible. We were hoping for the best and got mediocre. If that.
Hired the company to clean an EMPTY 2 bedroom condo, 1000 sq ft. As friendly as she was, she was slow. It took her 7 hours! Even then, we had to tell her it's enough, we didn't want her spending the night. Still unsure what was done in 7 hours. We just paid her for her time and finished the job ourselves. Huge disappointment.
And environmentally friendly products?! Don't let yourself be fooled by this. The cleaner they sent us had Dollar store cleaning products with an attempt to rip off the labels. I'm not sure if it was anything more than food coloring, perfume and water.
Oh, and she broke a picture frame.

Great service! They use all their own environmentally friendly products, you can book online, and the cleaner I got had years of previous experience in hotels – she moved like lightning and got lots more done in the 3 hrs I booked than I had dared hope for. Huge time saver, huge increase in Holiday zen, well worth the 65$.

Where to start?
I booked 2 people and only 1 arrived. It didn't occur to me to ask the one person who had arrived to focus on the kitchen/living area and I came home to find she'd cleaned – vacuuming only – our bedroom! She said that and 2 bathrooms, was all she had time for in 3 hours. My husband and I ended up doing all the cleaning ourselves after she left.

Because of this, and one other experience with Karma, my impression is that these women are badly exploited by the owner. Am wondering how much of that money they actually see. They have little loyalty towards him. And now, neither do I have any for him. Good karma, good riddance.

Find another cleaner is all I can say.

What can I say? I booked an appointment with them for Saturday noon a week ahead after reading some good reviews. Their website is well designed, the online booking went smoothly, and we got a call of confirmation from the owner on Tuesday. Everything seemed professional and I was waiting to have a complete clean up that weekend that only turned into a disaster than I've never expected.

Saturday, we got a call 20 minutes before our appointment time for cancellation because the cleaning lady "felt sick". Well, an unpleasant surprise, but it was too late to book with anyone else because it was already saturday afternoon. So we accepted a reschedule for Sunday at 2pm and thought nothing worse would happen the day after.

Guess what happened on Sunday? The cleaning lady showed up at door at 12:10pm, waking my husband who was recovering from a night shift. He told her to come back at 2 (later I learned that she called her boss and that's what she was told as well). SHE DID NOT COME BACK. I waited until 2:10pm and called her boss (note that nobody called me to tell me what's going on). He basically told me that he has no control over this woman and he was unable to find anyone to come in that day.

I'm left speechless. Avoid at any cost, unless you wanna wait in vain for two days in a row only to end up cleaning the house yourself desperately!!!!

Very pleased. I just needed a one-time deep cleaning of my 400-sq-foot apartment, which some cleaning services won't do – they only want to do repeat services.
