Steve did an amazing job over at my place. He was very diligent and detailed in his approach to looking for stains and dog urine on my carpet. He even pointed out a few spots that we didn't even notice! Carpet looked great when he left. Price is super reasonable as well; he charged us around $150 for multiple rooms and pet treatment. Will recommend to friends and family!

11/12 Update- The owner of The company came out and re-cleaned our main floor living room and stairs. It took him under an hour to complete. It looks much better than the first cleaning.

Between him and the lovely lady who called after this review was originally posted I would say they are a good quality company. Kenny was just a poor representation of the company. I will reiterate they were cost friendly.

Original review- Hands down would not recommend this company especially if Kenny shows up at your door. I decided to use this service for the first time because they were reasonable on price. However Kenny the technician was over an hour an 10 minutes late for the initial show time frame.

Then in addition to that he took over 5 hours to complete 3 rooms and a stair case. The guy appeared to be on some sort of drug. He claimed he was being thorough and talked the company up extensively. However the truth is he left several marks on our walls with his equipment being knocked around in addition to putting tiny holes through it in some places. In addition to that he went into rooms we asked him to stay out of looking for God knows what.

The carpet was also left with some stiffness and a film which we were told wouldn't happen with the chemicals they used.

Save yourself the hassle of having your whole day taken up and additional damage done to your house and choose another service.

We have used these folks twice. The first time the guy who cleaned it did a good job, for the most part, except he did completely skip moving our couches to clean under them, despite assuring us he did it. Nevertheless, we decided that was a minor issue since the rest of the carpets were clean, and didn't bring it up. We did have a problem getting them to honor a valid coupon, but eventually after calling it in, they did so.

Six months later, we decided to have them cleaned again. My wife called in to get a price quote and schedule the appointment. They said they would go ahead and re-honor our price from last time; we mentioned we'd like to add one more couch and loveseat to this cleaning, and she said they would just add those at their standard cost to our price from last time, which was $350.

The guy comes out to do the cleaning, measures everything and quotes us over $700!!!! We said that was impossible and explained our pricing conversation with the lady who does the booking. He explained that the guy who cleaned it last time messed up and likes to cut corners. He got on the phone with their office. After speaking with them for a few minutes, he says he can get the price down to just above $600. We said this was unacceptable. Keep in mind, we had spent HOURS the night before moving as much furniture out of the way as we could. So the thought of just cancelling and moving it all back didn't appeal. I told him it was ridiculous to charge us $250 extra when we only added a couch and loveseat. Regardless, he stuck firm and blamed it on the last guy who cleaned it.

We said I would have to talk to my wife but we might have to cancel our appointment, given they were charging us nearly double what we were quoted. He said if we cancelled we would have to pay a cancellation fee. Now it definitely feels like a "bait and switch." They give us one price, then after we spend hours moving our furniture around nearly double the price and say if we don't pay them, they'll charge us anyway!

I call my wife, she is frustrated, but we've already moved the furniture so she says to just eat the extra cost and let's be done with it. The technician did spend a couple hours cleaning, but after he left and the carpet dried, our carpet STUNK. Before, it only smelled stale in places. After he did the work, the entire carpet smelled terrible. I'm assuming their machine was defective or something, as the first time the carpet did at least smell clean after the appointment.

I did write to them personally after the cleaning; they did apologize for the mix-up on pricing, but offered us no money back or recourse for the terrible cleaning job despite offering a guarantee. We basically spent several hours moving furniture, and threw away $600 for carpet that didn't get any cleaner…and actually got WORSE.

We ended up having to pay another carpet cleaner to come out and clean up after Chem Dry. He was FAR cheaper and actually got the carpets cleaned.

There was NOT an additional living room done. The entire house was done both times. Yes, we did add on a couch and loveseat, which I freely stated in my review.

The email was absolutely sent, and I got a response where she just basically said "sorry, for the previous technician's mistake." That email went to Judy, not Cynthia; which explains why she can't find it.

In that email, I did explain that the odor was not focused around the areas treated with PURT. It was over the entire carpet: wall to wall.

The most disturbing thing was the bait-and-switch, where we were threatened to either take their new doubled price or pay a cancellation fee. As well as the fact that the carpet was actually worse after the cleaning. It's terrible to have to pay over $600 only to need to bring in another carpet cleaner after the fact to re-clean.

I understand that the previous technician screwed up the pricing the first time around. I get that. While I feel that price should have still been honored, considering that was agreed to over the phone (adding on the couch and loveseat, of course), I wouldn't have been that mad if he hadn't threatened us with a cancellation fee, which I think you can agree was a ridiculous thing to suggest given how much our expected pricing changed.

Regarding the first time, the technician DID do the pre-cleaning walkthrough, where he assured us he would move the couches I had requested. After the cleaning, I asked him if he moved them, he confirmed he had. It was only after he left that I thought to double check, and they hadn't been moved at all; the carpet underneath was completely dry and still smelled. None of this was a big enough deal to write a review about until the carpet cleaning itself being grossly ineffective became the proverbial straw on the camel's back.

First time customer. They are only company I found that could guarantee getting pet urine out of an area rug. Due to a great promotion company advertised, I decided to go ahead and get carpets done throughout the house. The technician went around with black light to find the pet urine. It was determined my area rug would have to go back to shop to the "pit"to get the proper & best cleaning possible. Their pet treatment did a very satisfactory job on our carpets. I haven't double-checked with my own black light but the smell is gone!! Yay!! It took more time than expected to have area rug returned, but I was compensated fairly. I am pleased with their work overall. I would definitely use this company again in the future.

One of our cleaners accidentally spilled our dusting solution on a clients brand new carpet. We called several carpet cleaning services. Brookes had the most prompt response and best rates. They came out the same day that we had spoke. Our dusting solution contains Murphy's Oil and essential oils. Our cleaner thought they cleaned it up well enough, but after the weekend the client said it had stained. Brookes was able to remove the stain completely after it had sat through the weekend.

The young man showed up at the scheduled time , no waiting around. He explained the options available but didn't pressure sale anytime didn't want. He went about his job very professionally and was done in about an hour. The carpets were dry in the time he told us and look great. I had previously had my carpets cleaned before but I could not remember the name of the company, however, it very much looked like they just pushed water around, or rather, as though they hadn't been there at all, so I was very apprehensive when Kenny, with Brooke's Chem Dry showed up. However, he was very persistent and insisted that he could help. He literally never gave up. He doesn't let a bad mood or a negative attitude discourage him or get him down…He stayed in a positive frame of mind and very upbeat, not only that, but he worked hard to prove me wrong. My carpet is 10yrs old, and by the end of his hours of service, it looked almost new again. I was very impressed. Stains I never would have thought would come out did, and Areas I didn't think would improve lightened up. I Thank Kenny for his hard work and compassion. It was very much appreciated and it absolutely made my weekend. We also had purchased 2 micro-suede couches online and had them cleaned before using them…They came out looking and feeling brand new….which I kind of new he would (or I wouldn't have bought them) there was only one spot that I thought he was going to have trouble with, and was a little worried b/c he actually seemed like he wasn't able to get it out, so, I prepared myself for disappointment…he never said a word…But I was so happy with the way the carpets came out, I couldn't complain. OK for them to charge $50 for a person to come out just to like straighten up things and I actually get to the areas that I sent pictures of it's quite pathetic I do not recommend this company to anybody that is in a tight spot and needs to have something done right I mean the lady that came over was younger she seemed like a nice girl but it almost seemed like she didn't wanna be there and kind of made that evident when she was telling me her stepmom told her to come work here today and she was talking about how she only gets a little bit of the money. Basically I felt kind of bad for her because like she didn't look like she wanted to be there and she didn't really care and it showed her work that she didn't care. I don't know why this company asked for pictures of the areas that you weren't cleaned and then proceeds to not work on the areas. I am never going to recommend these people to anyone especially not someone who was looking for a good deal but ended up not getting a good deal at all. $200 down the drain for nothing absolutely nothing. Overall a bad experience

I had been a customer for quite a while. I was delighted with their service, & had recommended them to my friends. The Cleaning Authority teams were fairly prompt & reliable, and did a good job. I enjoyed their rotation system, & nothing was better after a long day to come home to a house free of dust, freshly washed floors and an absence of
cat hair! I had always considered their staff friendly & fun. I received an email from Jay Stone, the owner, the other day. He informed me that they were dropping me because of beliefs that he stated, made one of his employees uncomfortable. Jay only emailed me that my key was being returned. I called him personally to find out what the concern was, & that is when he said one of his team members was "uncomfortable". I did not know that it was "incorrect" to profess your own opinion in your own home. I rarely had a problem with their service, but I have a problem with the lack of courage on the owners' part to reach out personally to me with his concerns instead of via email. I wish the company best of luck. I truly enjoyed the service.

We used this service for several months and were fairly happy with the quality. I did have to email them a couple of times on minor items but overall had a good experience. Then, before thanksgiving they had to move my appointment to accommodate the holiday. That was fine since I thought my house would be clean when my out of town company arrived the day before thanksgiving. When I arrived home after the cleaning I found a lot of places in the master bath and bedroom that had been missed. I emailed the owner who offered to return the next day and re-do those areas. Since I had guests arriving that day, I requested a partial credit on my account and the owner agreed. Later that same morning I moved the kitchen trash can to find a huge pile of dirt and leaves, which meant they didn't move it to clean underneath. When I emailed this picture to the owner he offered to give me credit for the entire cleaning but then took me off his schedule and told me to find another service. I am appalled that someone who is in the service industry would be so lazy as to drop a client who had a legitimate reason to object to such shoddy service. I just hired Molly Maids and not only are they more thorough, but more economical!

This company had cleaned our home for about 3 years. The cleaning people had broken several on my wife's items which are not replaceable, the owner was never seemed concerned about it as the cleaning crew just left a "breakage note". The last time they plugged in a vanity electrical outlet (instead of using a wall outlet) and wrapped the cord around a vase, of course it fell on the tile floor and broke in a million pieces. My wife asked the cleaning people what happen and they would not stop working and talk to her as they are required to time in and out when cleaning each house. The owner of The Cleaning Authority (franchisee) called and told my wife she belittled his employees and fired us! Never did he apologize for the damage or offer to pay for it. They just left the house half cleaned, left our key and the check for cleaning. This owner has terrible customer service skills…..nothing go cleaned unless it was on his list with an extra charge. There are better cleaning companies out there that would appreciate your business.

Jackie is fantastic. Her crew does a fantastic job and are always willing to do something extra. The customer service and communication are great. I have 2 dogs and I put them up on cleaning days so they aren't underfoot while the team is cleaning. One time they had an emergency and had to cancel cleaning, but Jackie let me know and made sure to stop by and let the dogs out. Could not ask for better service.

I purchased a groupon for 4 man hours deep cleaning for $165. Jackie called to discuss my expectations, and recommended purchasing another 4 hours which I did. The day of the cleaning Jackie asked me to prioritize which rooms were more important. I told her my family was coming to visit and we would be using all the rooms. I also texted her a picture of our window blinds, told her there were 19, and they needed to be cleaned well. The workers arrived, stayed 4 hours, someone else came for a few minutes while they were cleaning, and Jackie came towards the end. I had asked the workers to clean both sides of the ceiling fans, and dust some areas that I noticed hadn't been dusted. When the workers were leaving I gave them a $60 tip. After they left I noticed alot of places that hadn't been dusted. I texted Jackie photos (see below) and she sent the workers back out. I was not there while the workers returned. That evening I saw even more places that still hadn't been dusted, and saw that only 1 side of our blinds had been wiped down, and the top 12" of the blinds were untouched. I texted Jackie photos again and she sent the same workers back. They didn't seem to understand what I was saying, so I texted Jackie that they didn't seem to understand what I was saying. She told me she told them to ask me to take them to every room and tell them what I wanted. I didn't feel comfortable going to each room and watching them while they were working. (Especially since I had to keep asking one of them to please put her facemask over her nose as I am a 2 times cancer survivor and am immunocompromised. I wore a mask whenever we were in the same room.) I asked them to dust corners and legs of furniture, to wipe both sides of the blinds and both sides of the ceiling fan blades. And to please vacuum where the carpets hadn't been vacuumed. They rolled their eyes at me, didn't seem to understand what I was saying and weren't doing what I asked. I texted Jackie and suddenly 1 of the workers started wiping our blinds so roughly, slamming them into the windows, I asked her to please be careful. I texted Jackie again about their lack of understanding me, and she said I should have ordered "Ultra Deep Cleaning", which I'd never heard of and it wasn't mentioned when she and I had talked about exactly what kind of cleaning I wanted. I was very uncomfortable by this time and told that to Jackie. After the workers left for the 3rd time, I got a text from Jackie that I'd be getting an email to review them, and to please leave a review as it helped them learn. Later I saw there were still many places untouched, texted Jackie another set of photos, said I was not satisfied (see photos), with that much left undone after paying $390 including a $60 tip, (before I saw the poor job). I said I had not written the review yet as I hate leaving bad reviews, that if we could agree on a partial refund, I would still write an honest review, but would leave out the photos I had texted her. However, if she did not wish to refund a mutually agreed amount, I would still leave the honest review and would post the photos. Today someone called, asked how much of a refund I wanted, I talked with her about the job and said $100 would be ok. She said she would talk to Jackie, that they don't get very much of the money I paid, alot of it goes to Groupon, that I had a very dirty house, and would get back to me. I told her it was insulting to say my house was dirty, I said that it was dusty (we have 4 bedrooms and a finished basement that are hardly used since our kids are grown, and they were all coming for a visit which is why we needed all rooms clean). She said she would give me the $100 but then I needed to give them a 5 star review. I said that would not be honest, that I would still give an honest review, but would not post the pictures, as I had texted. She said she would not give any refund and to write whatever review I wanted. The photos speak for themselves.

I purchased a Groupon for three hours of cleaning. It took two weeks to book the service which I thought was fine from the time I bought the Groupon. The communication as to what they actually clean to when the technicians actually showed up was a two out of five review. That is when I should have known that I wasn't going to get what I paid for. The day of the service they showed up 40 minutes after the scheduled two hour window. The technicians couldn't communicate with me and put someone else on the phone. Then she hung up. They started upstairs in a four bedroom house which only two people live in. In the three hours they gave me they never made it past the third bedroom. My son purchased the Groupon as a present for my birthday he called the same day to express his concerns. The secretary after looking at pictures of water left behind and the shower curtain left on a bed said they would refund 60 of the 85 paid. He receives 30 dollars. I never leave bad reviews. I always contact the company first to try and make the situation right. This is literally the first bad review I have left. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
