Sparkle Maid Service Honest Reviews

Mike came to our Auke Bay condo and provided a very competitive bid for cleaning. On the appointed day and time, he showed up eager to get started. He not only deep-cleaned the condo, but also power-washed our deck and went way beyond expectations, cleaning refrigerator, range, etc. I highly recommend Sparkle Maid Service in a town where finding quality, reliable help is often a challenge. Thanks again Mike!

Quickcleanup Full Service Cleaning Honest Reviews

I have used this cleaning service that I believe is owned by Lola Herr in Juneau Alaska. I have used the service twice.
She charges $90/hr per person. I clearly informed her that I did not want to have different people coming over to the house if I were to use her on a regular basis which was my intent as discussed with her. The first time they were two workers that I was introduced to and they did a satisfactory but not spectacular job. I presumed the same two people would show up three months later when I needed them again. Instead Lola was not even present in the country and the person that showed up at the door was not anyone I have ever met before. In cleaning my apartment,, I believe the person that she sent (Carla) apparently used a caustic cleaner on my beautiful white Faux Couch/sofa and ruined it by causing multiple unsightly eroded holes in the material of the sofa. When I noticed the damage after the cleaning person had left. I called her cell phone and reached Lola in Mexico at the time the cleaner was working in my apartment. She told me I did not have to worry about Carla and that she was a good worker and would do a good job. After the second cleaning job was completed and I had returned to the condo,I pointed out to Lola's that the sofa looked fine when her first group of cleaners came out but looked terrible after the second cleaning. I took one of the cushions of the sofa that was damaged to the furniture store where I purchased it and showed it to the man who sold me the sofa. He confirmed that it had to have been a caustic cleaner that was applied to close the damage that was caused and that he was sure as he had seen this type of damage before. I sent Lola's a text with photos of the sofa before and after the second cleaning and illustrated that the sofa was fine just a few months ago but was now damaged. I was very calm and professional when I texted her and she answered by texting back a long defensive response stating that she was not surprised that the furniture person would blame her And that the damage must have been there before. I alluded to the recent photos, indicating that the sofa was fine before the second person came out to do a cleaning and asked Lola what might have been used on the sofa that was not used before. She remained extremely defensive. During a subsequent text exchange she suggested she would ask a canvas repair man if he could do anything since she had asked me if there was anything she could do to "fix" things although she made it a point to state she did not feel responsible and mentioned one of her workers had tried to use a stain remover on a small stain she said I had mentioned. The only stain on the beautiful sofa was a very small ink pen marking and the damage on the sofa went far beyond that. It is my opinion that the person who did the second cleaning was probably unsupervised and since Lola was in Mexico when the cleaning was being done, I don't think she could have offered much supervision. I am attaching photos just before and after the second cleaning and the damage is pretty self-evident. I will not use this service again as my expectation is that a professional house cleaning service should be aware of what cleaning products may be used on which furniture or other areas cleaned. I thought Lola's defensiveness was uncalled for including what seemed like an endless text stream of other leather furniture she had cleaned with no problems even though that had nothing to do with my concern regarding the damage to my faux leather sofa. She could have at least shown some empathy for my concern and she did not.I do not think the damage was caused intentionally but I do think it resulted from using the wrong product on the sofa and as such I cannot recommend the Quickclean house cleaning service in Juneau to others.

J & J Cleaning Honest Reviews

Frozen sewer pipe with water backing up in crawl space. Plumber couldn't fix it (but did rule out clog). Called J & J but we're told they were short on staff, Illness, vacation, jury duty, etc., so didn't expect to hear from them. Within a couple of hours we got a call and they were here within 1/2 hour. Spent nearly 3 hours putting hot water down and cleared the frozen clog. Also gave us ideas on how to avoid this in the future. But more than all that, they called a few days later to make sure everything was still flowing!! Greatly appreciate the follow-up. Doesn't happen very often and so appreciated this extra communication.

I agree with Sieg K's comments at a Yellow Pages review site. I had a similar experience with J&J and their employees (who are their relatives). After the work was finished, I insisted that somebody return to re-do the work. They did not want to re-do the work, but eventually returned to do this. Things were only marginally better after the second cleaning because they were angry and uninterested and came with bad attitudes.

Had a deadline, showing apt to prodpective renters in 48 hrs. J&J had carpets cleaned in 30 hrs from first call.

J&J does an excellent job. Extremely professional and communicative. They provide options based on your carpet stains and needs and what level of price or labor is in your budget. They were back again today, and we are very happy!

Touched By Angels Honest Reviews

Great cleaners, reasonably priced. I highly recommend for residential and commercial.

I hired Touched by Angles to do a residential carpet cleaning. I did not get a quote before hand which was a mistake. Two people showed up and they finished the whole house in about 3-4 hours and did a good job. They even moved some furniture to clean under and behind. I got the bill about a week later and it was $1785.00! Almost 1800$ for call it 8 hours of labor time. That is about 225$/hour. When I asked if there was a mistake I was told "No mistake, we charge by job" I was never given an itemized receipt just a final cost. I feel like I was taken advantage of and ripped off beyond belief. Moral of the story, get a written quote before hand. When the carpet cleaners are charging lawyer rates there's something wrong

Do NOT hire this company. We hired them to clean our carpets for a rental move out. They were an hour late with no notification, and upon completion of the job, claimed the 45 cents per square foot rate was incorrect. Prior to being provided the invoice I was asked if I was a military member. I was then told the price is $1700 for a 2087 square foot home. Very disappointed.

Nice folks. On time and fast work. Missed a spot or two but no worries really. I'd use them again and I thought the price was reasonable.

– Richard S.

Warning- when you get a quote, be sure to ask how many people will be cleaning at that price. I was told $48 an hour, but I was not told that she would be bringing two extra people making the true price per hour $156 ($48 x 3). I thought my total charge would be about $150; it was $432.

Regarding the cleaning, my floors and windows looked great. However, in the initial walk-through, I had asked that the light switch plates and heaters be wiped down. I also pointed out cobwebs in the corners that needed to be taken care of. I ended up cleaning the switch plates and the heaters. The cobwebs were either not taken down, or they were smeared down the wall, which I had to clean.

Learning lesson #1) get a written quote and #2) pay the bill after a final walk-through.
