I contacted Five Star via Yelp on a Sunday evening, and by mid-day on Monday, the owner Frank called me. I explained that I needed someone who could clean this week, knowing it was last-minute and unlikely that anyone would be available. Frank initially said that their calendar was full, but that he'd make a few calls and see if he could put together a team for me. Within a half-hour he called me back with a team ready to go for Wednesday morning at 8am. YAY! Frank asked incredibly detailed questions and was extremely clear about exactly what I could expect from my service and the time required.
My team showed up right on time and immediately got to work on the areas I'd prioritized with Frank. I didn't know the kitchen floor could be that clean!
They completed the job in the time anticipated, and did a complete walkthrough with me, even touching up one small area they'd missed by mistake.
The house smells INCREDIBLE, the floors are spotless, the kitchen and bathrooms are sparkling, and the surfaces are all neatly dusted. I'm so happy with the work they did!
Next up: I plan to have them out for carpet cleaning!

Wow! In 35 years I've never been satisfied with carpet cleaning companies but again WOW, Artie cleaned our entire house carpet (25 years old) and it now looks almost new, he came back to remove a stain that happened after he had done the work, and best of all cleaned my 20 year old dining room chairs leaving them looking brand new — recommend 150%! Although I didn't end up using Five Star, I highly recommend them. I was prepared to go with Five Star but then found out that my building has cleaning services. They are pretty expensive and not flexible on their pricing due to working with contracted help. It's $100 for big rooms (over 250 sq ft) and $50 for rooms under 250. $48 per staircase and $15 for each landing and each walk in closet. I'm not sure about the service call because this was already over the other quotes I had received and we were at about $500 for my 3 level townhouse.

This was my first time using their service. I needed them to do a "move-out" cleaning of my apartment. Called and was offered different rates and services – the person on the phone really worked with me to find the most suitable arrangement. Received email reminders about my scheduled appointment in a timely fashion.
When the two cleaners arrived, they were very friendly and thorough in the questions about what I specifically wanted them to do. They worked efficiently and thoroughly and told me to let them know if I saw anything that I wanted them to redo.

Very easy to schedule the appointment, Frank (owner) was so friendly and accommodatingand the team showed up when they were supposed to. I have never had my house professionally clean and I requested a one time deep cleaning. The team did an AMAZING job. They cleaned everything: the baseboards, ceiling fans, window blinds and ledges, the bathrooms look like new, the kitchen didn't have a single spot. For 3 crew members for 5 hours the cost was approx. $500. I will definitely use this company again in the future.
I just had the team out to do a one time move-out cleaning, and once again they did a phenomenal job! I had no problem scheduling the cleaning for the date and time I wanted (I emailed Frank 3 weeks in advance). The house was immaculate!

My place is so clean!!!! I was referred to frank and team by one of my coworkers. I called and he was super friendly. We set up a meeting for him to come quote my place, get my preferences, etc then scheduled the cleaning. They even accommodated the day I wanted although it was a holiday week.

Five Star Cleaning Service is by far the best I have used over the last 7 years in my home. Yelp does not allow for half-star ratings, so 5 if what I am giving them but 4.5 is what I think. There is always room for a little bit of improvement, however Frank and his team are out to make you happy. They take feedback well and really do strive to make you happy. They are very accommodating and very easy to work with. Plus they really actually clean, I mean really, really clean unlike many services I have had that were "swish and swipers".

I used You've got maids of Annapolis. My first cleaning was low quality-the bathtub was not cleaned at all-and I sent pictures to management. I got a free follow up cleaning that I was satisfied with so I stayed with them. I had a few times when they had to pospone cleaning due to staffing which which was inconvenient but ok. Then I had a missed cleaning in november. I called and rather than just apologize and admit to an error in the schedule, the scheduler/supervisor told me that I actually was not due for a clean until I pointed her to the date of my previous cleaning. Apparently they were understaffed and that's why my cleaning was missed. She could not reassure me that this would not happen again, instead continued to ask when I would like to be scheduled next. I decided to end my service with you've got maids due to poor customer service, unreliability, lack of standardization with training cleaners, and poor organization. I don't recommend them. You can pay 5 extra dollars for better services.

I decided to give Molly Maid of Central AAC a try after speaking with several different home cleaning services, Molly Maid of Central AAC made the best impression with a prompt response and a follow-up thank you card after giving us an estimate. I thought that their customer service was great – speaking with Amber & Mike was easy and enjoyable. They scheduled a date for cleaning and two of their employees showed up ready to work. They were very nice and worked hard. They did everything that was promised in the estimate and did it very nicely. I have two cats with cat hair everywhere yet you could never tell after they finished cleaning. I'm happy to say that I will be a continuing customer and look forward to our next scheduled cleaning.

I have been with Molly Maids since 2009. I am extremely dissatisfied with them and will not use them again. Additionally, to any of my friends I have referred to them, I'll let you know who I go with next so you can switch too. They are price gougers. They wanted to jack my price up nearly 30% because we remodeled our kitchen! It appears if you can afford nice things, they think they have the right to charge you more. I don't mind modest increases in prices, and have experienced them since 2009, but 30% with faulty justification is simply wrong. The girls who clean spend 1 hour 45 minutes at our home – and always have – from the time our boys were growing up to the time now, when it's just 2 of us living here and most of the house isn't even being used. Go with another company!

UPDATE: I'm not sure if my roommate contacted them, or if the owner saw my review and told the maids but the last six months we used their service, things were much better. I took precautions to make sure nothing remotely fragile (camera, laptop, etc) was out in order to keep it from being damaged. The cleaning itself had never been an issue as the maids are very thorough. But since my last review and my precautions, the issues stopped. My roommate who hired them has since moved out several months ago though, so I no longer use their services.
I changed the review to three stars since the owner did reach out and the cleaning is thorough.
Horrible. Stay away. My roommate hires Molly Maid for a cleaning once a month and I'm beyond frustrated with them. At first they were great, but several months ago I started to have issues. My roommate likes them and doesn't have the same issues. Instead im going to start putting signs up to instruct the cleaners to stay away from my room and to not put plastic items in the oven.
The cleaning is thorough in most areas, but they are so inconsiderate with my belongings it is ridiculous. Some examples:
They left the cast iron in the oven with plastic containers stacked inside it. Now I need to check the oven prior to preheating it after a bunch of my Tupperware melted.
Stepping on my laptop and breaking the flash drive.
Throwing all of our shoes into the closet into a giant pile.
Knocking the lens protector off of my $1,000 camera lens. (No damage luckily but this has happened twice now)
Breaking my shower head, so it sprays uncontrollably when I turn it on.
Generally moving things and not putting them back where they belong.
My TV stand has some damage, though this I'm not sure if it was them or not. It's still dusty though, so I guess if they didn't clean it they probably didn't touch it.
Anyway, stay away if you value your belongings.

We got our house cleaned on Friday for the first time by Molly Maids. I have had my house cleaned by many different companies over the past decade, but I've never had such a shoddy job done. Other than the beautifully-cleaned shower door (in master bedroom), well-polished microwave, and line-vacuum job in the basement carpet, the cleanliness was no more thorough than the half-hearted cleaning my kids and I do ourselves on the weekends. The kitchen floor looked terribly blotchy/dirty, had simple dirt smudges left, which I simply rubbed off with my finger. This indicates that it was never mopped or at least only spot-mopped. In addition, the kitchen sink was not even scoured/scrubbed. The bedroom windows weren't touched; there was crust left in the corners of the counters and on the fridge handle; the dust bunnies were still under all the beds/behind the beds and in EVeRY corner. In fact, the thing that made me the most irate was the fact that the hardwood floors looked barely swept (mainly upstairs, but also in basement bathroom), let alone deep cleaned. I ran my hand along the floors in the bedrooms near the walls and collected handfuls of dust and grime. One of my sons left a fishing device on the floor behind his door (a long, tangled mass of wire), and not only was it still in the exact same position, but all the dust around it was still there. There was also debris left on the carpets in the bedrooms as well. The upstairs bedroom floors are the main reason I hired a professional- because I don't get to those parts on a regular basis! If I wanted a superficial spot-clean, I would have done it myself! The downstairs bathroom floor also hadn't been touched (debris, not swept, let alone mopped.); There was also literally still a blotch of urine behind my kids' toilet and urine drips remained on the toilet; also, the whole side of their vanity, closest to the toilet was sprayed with something without being wiped. The chrome/silver on the shower hardware looked like it also had either not been touched or made to look worse. The one bathroom I didn't immediately "reclean" after the crew left was my master bathroom (I didn't even check it because it doesn't get that gross and I wipe it regularly). Turns out, my husband, on his OWN, without even hearing my thoughts on the cleaning, saw our bathroom and re-cleaned around the toilet!! And I know these things are minor, but they make a big difference in the eyes of the customer: the closets, curtains, and furniture were just left open/arranged any-which-way. (Not neat.)
In addition, after I had to move heaven and Earth to make sure my kids and I were elsewhere and out of your way during the cleaning, the ladies were two hours late! My son saw them arrive, since he was at the neighbor's house. When he popped in a few hours later, the ladies apparently asked him at that point if they were also supposed to clean the basement. What!? It was three hours after their arrival, and multiple women were unable to effectively clean the other parts of that time!? I could have single-handedly ACTUaLlY deap-cleaned the other two floors in that time, by mySELF. And also, what!? How were they unaware that the basement also needed to be cleaned?! No wonder nothing except a toilet scrub and a vacuum job happened in the basement. Ughhh.

Sayda and Paulette from Molly Maid cleaned our house on 7 May, and did an excellent job. We have many lovely things from almost 40 years of overseas living, and the house was very dusty. They moved and dusted things carefully, took special care not to damage the Persian carpets, and were cheerful and helpful through out. They were prompt and very receptive to suggestions on how to clean special things. *update* 2/12/18 I was immediately contacted by Mike from Molly Maid. He apologized for the experience and issued a credit to rectify the situation. I was surprised and impressed that they took my review seriously and found me to address the issue. I am updating the review from one star to three. The cleaning was sub-par, but at least management was willing to admit the mistake and address the issue.
I hired Molly Maid to do a moving out deep clean. I made that clear at the time of booking, when they confirmed the date, and when they ladies arrived. I was told the job would take 2 to 2 1/2 hours. It took 3 hours and they didn't even clean everything. They didn't vacuum the basement, or clean the refrigerator. They half cleaned the baseboards and I had to go behind them and re-clean some areas. The QA person came by to check on them and even commented they were moving really slowly. I called the main office when they left with my concerns and was told, well they were there for that amount of time, so you need to pay for that amount of time. Would not address the slowness or the poor cleaning. I will not use them again. I hope you think hard before you do.

I decided to give Molly maid a try as my schedule has been hectic and I just wanted to come home a clean home…. Well the first time they came and did an estimate to continue the services I was quite pleased. However, once i said I would like to continue the services, things changed. On the subsequent clean the ONLY areas of my house to be touched were the kitchen (however they did not clean the floors), dining area and living room. No bathrooms, no bedrooms…not even a thing on my upper floor! Essentially, they lured me in then backed off on the quality.
After this experience, I do not trust Molly Maid and would not recommend them to anyone. The bottom line, pass on Molly Maid.

They did a good job. They were late due to incliment weather and i never received any notification they were running late. I had to call the office to find out they were running behind due to the weather.

This is the worst cleaning service I have ever used in my life. I have my house cleaned every two weeks by another service, but I thought I would go with a larger service for a detailed move out clean thinking they would have more people and better supplies to get it done quickly. I was wrong. Two people came out for three hours and they charged me $370 for what was an awful cleaning. For that amount, you should get a detailed cleaning. Instead, they failed to do basics like wipe baseboards and windowsills, clean a toilet or wipe a doorframe, even after I showed them that they had failed to do it. I had the carpets professionally cleaned prior to their arrival so they didn't even have to do carpets and still charged me that amount! The floor had more dirt on it after they cleaned it than before they came. I called the manager and he said all he could do was have them come back out after I spent two hours cleaning up after them because I didn't have time to wait for them- it was a move out cleaning for a reason. Do NOT use this service. You and your pocketbook will regret it.

I'd like to make it very clear LaTanya has never visited my home. She appears to be confusing me with another client. My dog is a miniature dachshund and has never attacked anyone and we just moved to this area last year as I mentioned to her when I spoke to her in April. I also don't have children. Top Notch Cleaning was recommended to me on NextDoor and based on Yelp reviews I was excited to use the company. Unfortunately, this didn't happen. I scheduled a consultation through the site that didn't happen and that was understandable as website calendar issues happen and the owner was out of town for a funeral. This was in April and LaTanya gave me prices based on my sq footage that I thought were very reasonable. She informed me a week or so later after I reached out that she had an injury so she would not be available until sometime after May and that was fine with me as she would reach out. We exchanged pleasantries and I let her know healing was the only thing to worry about and I looked forward to working with her when she was better. I reached out in June again and she said she was working but I forgot to ask about her schedule as I was transitioning to a new job.
Today I reached out to ask about her September schedule and she told me she didn't feel comfortable coming to my home and to please find someone else and we are now in August. I don't know what has changed and what is going on. I am a little frustrated because it was not communicated to me prior that she was uncomfortable. If it is because I live in Middle River, that is understandable, but when we spoke on the phone, that wasn't brought up to be an issue. If it is because I have a small dog, that is understandable as well, but it can be arranged for him not to be home and that was never brought up either. We both work from home, so him being crated if that's what is needed or him not being home can be arranged. I did ask if I made her uncomfortable or what happened so that I can understand because for me, this is coming out of nowhere since conversations have been pleasant with no issues.
I think if you are able to work with LaTanya, you should as she is very reasonable in her prices and seems like a joy to work with. Her work also seems stellar, so I'm disappointed to be missing out in supporting her business.

Not only was she easy to work with and very accommodating regarding scheduling, she did an amazing job on our new house! She was so thorough that I would eat straight off any surface she cleaned. I was in need of a move in cleaning for a new home. Based on Yelp reviews I was really excited to use this company, sadly that never occurred. Initially the communication and correspondence was good. Then it came time to schedule and I found myself sending multiple inquiries regarding scheduling. Finally I received a response stating they were away at a funeral and would follow up at the end of the week. The end of the week came and I again found myself sending multiple inquiries. I then received a response stating they would contact me the following day. That did not happen and I sent an email stating thank you for the service anyway and the following day I received a call. We confirmed the date and narrowed down a time and I left the conversation feeling confident that my home would be in good hands.
Unfortunately, around 730 PM the night prior to the scheduled cleaning I received a call regarding getting injured and possibly not being able to do the cleaning. I was then informed they would follow up with me the next day. That was last week Wed 4/14 with the move in scheduled for the following day and to date I have not heard back. While I understand things come up communication is key. Being professional is also important. Something as simple as following up as stated or even to check to see if I was able to find someone else would have gone a long way. My experience with Latonya and her communication was disappointing to say the least.

My wife and I have a three year-old son and a four month-old daughter, and we both work. Try as we might, the housecleaning for our townhouse had started to get away from us. We weren't living in squalor, but the time and effort needed to keep up were becoming burdensome, so we decided to hire a cleaning service.
I used Yelp to get a few estimates. They varied not only in price but in how informative they were. LaTanya at Top Notch was by far the most forthcoming and helpful, and her prices were reasonable, so we went with her. Also, we like dealing with small local businesses, and I think Top Notch is just LaTanya and her husband.
When she arrived (a few minutes late, but this is northern Virginia, so that's to be expected, and she had texted me to update her arrival time), we spent a few minutes talking about what she would do, and then she got to work. In the meantime, she was wonderfully kind to my 8 year-old standard poodle (who is friendly but curious). She assured me that the products she uses are safe for pets (other than the oven cleaner, which obviously is contained in a small area) and kids. I was home with my daughter, but we just moved to different floors to stay out of her way.
This review is already long, but if I were to detail everything she did, it would rival "War and Peace." She vacuumed, mopped, dusted, scrubbed, scoured, and sprayed. She happily took specific directions. I thought she might be there for three or four hours. She worked for eight. Eight! She was still working when my wife got home. We went for a shopping trip to Costco, figuring she would finish and lock up while we were out. She was still scrubbing the oven racks (till they gleamed) when we got back — and then she patiently talked with my son, who decided to get her opinion on every Disney film ever made while she worked.
When she left, the house was immaculate. My wife said, "This is amazing. Why didn't we do this before?" I paid LaTanya through PayPal (adding a tip but feeling as if I had still gotten far more value than I expected) and told her we will arrange for her to come back once per month.
Overall, suffice to say that LaTanya is spectacular. She is hard-working to a fault, warm, kind, and happy to do what you want and skip what you don't. I've rarely been so happy with anyone I've hired for anything.

I asked her to do a bathroom/stove and oven cleaning. I made that clear. There was a lot of confusion and miscommunication. I've had cleaners come and just do select areas in the past. She told me her prices for the areas above and then added an additional $10 for gas. Even after telling her what areas I wanted done, she went ahead and did other areas and proceeded to try and charge me for it. Additionally, she damaged the countertop and mentioned nothing about it, but of course it was noticed and I'd be held responsible. I tried desperately to remove the marks with no success! I'm annoyed that I'm left to deal with the aftermath of what she did. Yelp suggested this "company, but I should have known better and planned better instead of waiting until the last minute. Sorry, I can't recommend.

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this company for cleaning services. Our home needed a deep cleaning and I walked the team of four throughout each room and identified specifically what needed to be done. There was no furniture that required moving during the cleaning. I had to go over the entire house twice to point out what was not cleaned. Windows were not cleaned thoroughly, cabinets were not cleaned, window sills and baseboards were not cleaned, only dusted. They did a good job cleaning the appliances internally but not externally. They did a poor job of sweeping and mopping the floors. There was debris in the corners and spots that you could clearly see that were untouched. I ran my finger across one of the bathroom floors and it had not been touched by a broom or a mop. Sadly sadly disappointed with the service, but when I asked for them to redo certain areas, they did accommodate. If you're offering a deep clean, I should not have to go throughout the entire house twice to show what was not cleaned.
